Question:

Looking for the most appropriate HD Air Lift 5000 Application for my 2001 Chev Silverado 2500 HD LB Xcab Duramax. Need a rear axle airbag system but I find 151 of them listed when I search. Im after something simple like the yutube video for the 2006 Chevy shows. Is that the same model?

I have a great set of air bags for your 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD truck but I have no idea what youtube video you are talking about. I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs item # F2700. These have a 7,500 lbs capacity and are compatible with 5th wheel hitches.

The reason I chose this system was the durability and the ease of installation this kit has. The air bags are constructed of four layers of reinforced rubber to ensure durability. The kit requires no drilling and attaches by clamps and brackets to your axle.

I also recommend adding the Firestone Air Command II - Analog Gauge w/ Heavy Duty Compressor item # F2219. This is a dual function on board air compressor that will allow you to adjust the PSI in your air springs individually and from the comfort of the inside of your truck. The ability to adjust the air springs individually will allow you to compensate for uneven loads.
