Recommended Air Bags for a 2025 Silverado 1500 LTZ w/a 3.0L Diesel Engine

Updated 12/31/2025 | Published 12/24/2025

Question:

Recommended air bags for 2025 Silverado 1500 LTZ with 3.0L diesel and max trailering package. Window sticker does not show truck has Adaptive Ride Control which I believe is not available with Max Trailering package. Even with increased towing capacity, the truck still squats when towing 6500 travel trailer. Thanks.

Hey Tracy, thanks for all of the information. Since your 2025 Silverado 1500 LTZ does not have the Adaptative Ride Control feature, I recommend the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers item # AL88288.

The Air Lift item # AL88288 have a 5,000 lbs capacity that will level out the rear end of your Silverado when you are towing your trailer. The included mounting brackets are custom fit and come with all hardware needed for installation. They fit both the 2WD and 4WD models and are compatible with your truck's diesel engine.

I saw you were looking at the Firestone item # F2609. These air bags along with the rest of Firestone's options for a 2025 Silverado 1500 do not work with the diesel engine models.

I also recommend adding the Firestone Air Command item # F2610 to your truck. This onboard compressor will allow you to adjust the PSI in your air bags from your phone.

What kind of trailer are you pulling?

Thanks Jerred for the reply. While waiting for the air bag reply I did submit a second question to Chuck regarding metal valve stems. Would appreciate a reply to that one as well. I am towing a 2021 Flagstaff 21DS Microlite with 14” Liger aluminum wheels. Dry weight is 4900#. The Silverado Max Trailering Package moves me up to 13000# towing ability but I still squat and porpoise too much for comfort. Out of curiosity, how does the 3.0 diesel prevent using the Firestone setup at rear of truck? What’s interfering? Thanks.

@Tracy You're welcome. That's a nice setup. The Air Lift item # AL88288 will definitely address those issues. I don't see a second question but I would be happy to answer it if you want to throw into the comment box. The Firestone item # F2609 has clearance issues with the exhaust.

@Jerredh Thanks for reply on Firestone interference. My second question was the metal valve stems AM20906. On a trip last week with camper I had two flats due to what I believe is centrifugal force breaking the rubber valve stems with TST 507 non-flow thru TPMS sensor caps installed. I can also see scuff marks on wheel where cap seems to flex and rub. Trailer has 14” Liger aluminum wheels and stem holes look countersunk and in a curved area of wheel. Will these metal stems work with this wheel and sensor? Plan is to buy the Air Lift setup, metal stems if they work, and a Retract-a-Spare set up you offer. Thanks.

@Tracy You're welcome! The valve stems that come with the Aluminum Liger Trailer Wheel like item # LH84FR aren't strong enough for Brass Tire Sensors like item # TST-507-RV-S2. The Americana Metal, Bolt-In Valve Stem item # AM20906 is exactly what you need. They'll fit in that 0.453" valve stem hole, are compatible with TPMS sensors, and have a 100 psi capacity.
