When you’re hauling a heavy trailer or a bed full of gear, rear-end sag can throw off your handling and braking. The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 air springs add up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling support to keep your vehicle steady and level. By sharing the weight across all four wheels, they help your suspension do its job without strain, keeping steering sharp, braking predictable, and headlights aimed where they should be.
Every load is different, so your suspension should be too. With adjustable air pressure ranging from 5 to 100 psi, these springs let you fine-tune support for whatever you’re carrying. Inflate both sides evenly for balanced loads or adjust each bag independently to level out uneven cargo. Manual inflation valves and air lines are included for straightforward setup, and an onboard compressor system can be added later for in-cab control.
Even on bumpy roads or long hauls, the LoadLifter 5000 helps cut down sway, bounce, and bottoming out. The system works alongside your factory suspension to absorb road shock and stabilize your ride. The result is less wear on your tires and brakes and a smoother drive whether you’re towing a camper or hauling materials for work.
Air Lift built these bags to handle real-world towing abuse. Each spring is made from 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber with exclusive upper and lower roll plates that protect the bags and increase load capacity. The endcaps use high-strength Zytel nylon that’s lighter, stronger, and more corrosion-resistant than steel—so they won’t rust or leak over time. Brackets, mounting hardware, air lines, and manual valves are all included to get you set up right the first time.
Installation is simple with bolt-on brackets and included hardware. Just mount the springs, run the air lines to accessible inflation valves—often on the bumper—and you’re ready to level things out. Once in place, the LoadLifter 5000 gives you lasting suspension support without complicated upkeep, backed by a lifetime warranty and a 60-day satisfaction guarantee.

I'm glad to you gave us a try! I'd be really interested in knowing if you would have any advice or tips for anyone else with the same scenario. Is there anything you can share about the install like what worked for you in spite of the off road shields?

A year in working great. I did have to retighten one of the connections and used some more teflon tape but that’s it. Rough and bumpy dirt roads and pastures 0 issues! Would buy again

The air bags have helped smooth out the ride while pulling our 5th wheel camper. They have performed very well.

Still working great but I do wish I had spent more money and got the system with the automated pump but still I am very satisfied with what I got.

Thanks for the feedback, and I can definitely understand what you’re describing with the ride quality. These air bags don’t really have a “clearance” issue in the traditional sense since they mount between the frame and axle, but what you’re feeling is pretty common when they’re not dialed in just right. The LoadLifter 5000 system is adjustable from about 5 to 100 PSI, and the air pressure you run makes a big difference in ride comfort. If you’re running higher pressure while unloaded or lightly loaded, it can make the ride feel stiff or rough. Dropping the pressure closer to the minimum when empty usually smooths things out quite a bit. Out of curiosity, what PSI are you running in the bags when you’re unloaded?
