Hello neighbors, I'm Steven with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at this Thule Top Tracks for your roof rack system. Now these are 60" long. You pretty much would maybe use these for like a multi-sport function, maybe on top of your camper shell, possibly a hard tonneau cover if it's one of 'em, like flip up ones, something to that extent. And that would then give you an option to mount then a set of feet and roof rack load bars. Those are sold separately, the load bars and fit kit, you can check out our webpage, etrailer.com.
Find the right ones for your specific installation. Now the nice innovative fasting hardware pretty much eliminates the headliner removal. There are some cases where you may have to remove a headliner, but it's pretty rare. Just follow the instructions included, and you get two 60" long tracks. There's kind of a closeup of what they look like.
We got holes in here for mounting. It's got a nice slot in here for you to slide the feet back and forth to any width that you want to set it up for. They're pretty durable. They got a little flex but not too much. They're nice aluminum construction and they are coated so they're not gonna rust, corrode, that kind of stuff.
Now these are 1-5/8" and again, 60" long. Now as far as the end, see if I can get it there without it messing up. All right, so that's the end. You take one of these end caps, they're hard plastic. Once you get these installed, you'd simply put in that end cap.
Keep in mind it's not gonna stay there right now 'cause it requires a bolt to go through there. But when you're all done, it'll give you a nice flush, clean looking install. Now again, you do require some drilling to install these and they've included both drill bits. There's like a pilot one and then to get the final size and then you've got all your hardware, stainless steel, silicone to put through the hole, rubber gasket washers, lock nuts, rubber tubes to cover the end of the screws, and then the plastic cap to cover the cap itself. So all that's gonna give you a really nice clean look. I'm pretty impressed with the kit. Again, if you want to add a roof rack to maybe the top of your camper shell or a hard tonneau cover, this is a really good option. And again, it does work with the Thule Podium SquareBars and Podium Arrow Bars and feet that are sold separately. Well folks, that's gonna do it for our look today at these 60" long Thule Top Tracks. Been a year since I installed the tracks on my truck and they still holding up, no rust and in good working condition. I highly recommend etrailer for their customer support and wide selection of quality items available!
The product seems great, but as far as this company goes, they aren’t the manufacturer, so there’s no real product development. What they do have control of is how things get shipped and sent out, and I received my product inside a too small box, with the ends wrapped in tape and no hardware came with my product. As of 3/24/22, I’m currently in the process of waiting on my hardware to arrive with my original order arriving 3/23/22. I obviously called the next day and Mary has been harping me figure all this out.
They were appalled at the condition I received it in, and have reportedly put my hardware on high priority rush order, so that’s a plus for sure, but still quite the negative mark nonetheless as I paid 200 bucks for the product to arrive janky and not complete. I would have thought to also receive something like free shipping on my next order, but no such thing was offered.
For the original order, I paid for extra fast shipping, and it delivered on that promise. The product seems like it will work great, I just can’t put it on my vehicle yet. Make sure and take pictures of your products packaging.
The bolts and screws could not be properly mounted to my camper shell. I followed the directions exactly. They need to look over the size of the hole you need to drill into the cab and redo the types of screws they use.
Excellent product, easy to install. Perfect for an application where you are unable to access the underside of the mounting surface, such as the roof of an RV, although for an RV roof you'll need to explore optional fastening options as the nut inserts that ship with the Thule rails are for a thin roof, < 1/8".
Good price, but the box these came in was mangled and the end tape was broken. So the silicone sealant tube was missing, as were some stainless steel screws and flare nuts. I needed the roof rack for the weekend, so I went to the hardware store and replaced the missing parts for $6.36. When Helen from etrailer followed up with my complaint, there was NO hesitation. She made sure I was reimbursed. THAT is customer service. Yes, it was a bit of a time imposition for me, but this is the way a company should run, and the way that employees should respond. I'll keep returning to them for business in the future. That's why it's a 5 star, and not a 1 star.
Item was shipped without the installation kit to install! Only item shipped was the load bars themselves. Contacted etrailer support regarding the issue and was told that that they "will look into it and get back to me". Representative noted that they expect a response within 30 days of purchase if anything is missing in the packaging. Reading the other reviews it seems like I am not the only one who was shipped only the load bars and not the installation kit. I will update once I hear back from them on how they will handle the missing items.
