Installing Thule Tracks and Crossbars to Leer Fiberglass Truck Canopy Topper

Question:

Can you tell me to what Nm force to tighten bolts holding Thule tracks to a Leer fiberglass truck canopy? Thanks!

For the Thule Roof Mounted Top Rack System - 54" Long # THTP54 or 60" Long # THTB60 the manufacturer doesn't give a torque spec. They simply state to "tighten until there is a noticeable increase in the force". You want it to be snug, but over tightening can damage fiberglass, so you will want it just snug enough to be comfortable. The hardware and sealant will help hold it in place so your crossbars and towers will further stabilize the fit.

Then you will use the Thule Fit Kit for Podium Style Foot Pack # THKIT3101, and the # TH460R towers. Then you can use the crossbars # TH711400, # TH711420, or square bars # TH712400. Different lengths are available based on preference.
