Speaker 1: Today in our 2015 Nissan Rogue, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima JetStream roof rack system. It's going to consist of part numbers Y00425. These are the JetStream crossbars. These also come in silver. We'll also be using part number Y00147, and these are the TimberLine Towers that are going to attach to your factory raised side rails. We already have the front bar assembled on our vehicle here. How we got it into place is we picked a point and measured back.
So, for example, this edge here, we picked that on both sides, measured back to the edge here to make sure it was even, and then we tightened it down.Moving back to the table, since our bar is partially assembled here, we'll actually finish our assembly process, and then install this one on the rear. On the table you're going to see the components that come with this kit, the tower, the end caps for the tower, the fit kit for the bar, and the end cap for the bar as well. So, moving forward, our first step is we're going to take the plastic piece here. That's going to fit to the top of our tower. We'll push it in like so, then flip it upside down. Get our tightening tool, insert it into the screw.
Then we're going to install our metal piece on the top as well. You're going to tighten this down until you hear about two or three audible clicks from our tightening tool. This is going to let us know that we're not over tightening it, like that. Now, we'll go to the end of our bar, and this portion here is going to slide into the end like so. That will push into place. Now we'll take our end cap and install that.
Now, we can set this on our bars and start measuring out for our crossbar spread. Make sure you set it down nice and easy, because you don't want to scratch up your roof while you're installing these, especially if you have a sun roof. Also, you want to make sure that the line here at the bottom is going to be at the top of the bar. You want to make sure of that on both sides. Then next, we're going to measure from center to center, and then from this point outward on both sides to make sure that's even as well.To do this you can use any kind of measuring tape or flat tape that you have.
We'll be using flat tape today, because, well, that's what we do. When it comes to measurements here, there's not a set measurement. What I like to do is go by the accessories that I'm hauling, and go by their recommendations. Really you just don't want to go under 24 inches, because that would be just nutty. Once you're sure that it's even, do the crossbar overhang here. That actually looks to be pretty good on both sides, so we didn't have to make any adjustments there. Now we can do our final tightening down procedure. We'll use that same tightening tool that we had earlier. We'll tighten down the bolts on the inside here first. That's going to tighten down the tower to the bar. Again, you're going to hear those audible clicks, like that. Then you can start tightening down the strap to the bar as well, also waiting for those clicks. Now, this can take a little time, especially if the strap was all the way loosened up. You can help this out by maybe tightening it up a little bit before you put it on, because the bars up here on the Rogue are pretty thin. Otherwise, I would put a lively song on, maybe kind of distract you a little bit while you're doing this. There we go. And, we'll repeat this process for our passenger side. These are rubber coated steel straps, so they're very sturdy and strong. They're not going to break. You can see as it tightens down there how it conforms nice to the bar as well. Makes the arm tired. I'd like to thank my cameraman for remaining nice and steady this entire time, because my arms would be killing me right about now. There we go, getting there. There we go.Now, our final step is we're going to take our endcaps, and these just snap right into place on both sides. At this point, we're ready to load up our gear and hit the road. Now, these bars are ideal for hauling a wide variety of accessories that'll free up space inside your Rogue. These can carry anything from bike racks to cargo baskets, to cargo boxes.Looking at the endcaps here, you can utilize T-track accessories with these. Unlike most other roof rack systems, you don't have to remove this rubber strip at the top to slide your T-track accessories in place. Instead, you push down, and this portion here, and it will slide into place without having to make any cuts whatsoever. Also, you see the aerodynamic shape of the bars. That, along with that rubber strip, that's going to help cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive. Also, something I would like to point out, on the bottom side here, you see this channel. There is a rubber strip that you will cut to length and put underneath there as well, but for demonstration purposes we left that out.I'd like to give you a couple quick measurements here while I'm thinking about it. I'm going to look up at the front of the vehicle here. It's going to be how high they sit off your roof. Three and a half. Four and five-eighths. Okay. From the center of the roof to the bottom of the bar is going to be three and a half inches. From the center to the top is going to be four and five-eighths inches. So, this does sit a little high off the roof, so you want to keep that in mind when you have your accessories on there, like your bike racks or your cargo baskets when they're fully loaded. That might affect you while you're pulling it into your garage. Also, these bars have a combined carrying capacity of 165 pounds, although you do want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can stand those weights, and go by the smaller of the two. There you have it for the Yakima JetStream Roof Rack System on our 2015 Nissan Rogue.

Knowledgeable sales rep.Help me through the process on purchasing my roof rack Recommended to anyone quality parts
I purchased clips that were stated as being compatible with our 2010 Chevrolet Impala. The front clips fit well, however the rear clips do not.
Excellent solution for my 2023 Chevy Silverado. In the past, I have had rails installed on the roof of my pickup trucks, but I find the BaseLine towers to be a better solution, since they don't permanently change the truck. Plus, they are much more solid than SkyLine system on the rails.
For a 2015 Mazda 3, 4 door sedan.
I used the 50" jetstream bars with the skyline towers and the #22 Landing Pads.
Went together easy, great quality, very solid feeling! And, easy to remove and install when needed.
Fit our Subaru Forester perfectly. Install was a breeze.
Really easy to install & work as specified. So happy with the customer support/service at etrailer.
Still look and work great after a year. Fantastic investment and they didn't reduce my fuel economy. They don't produce a lot of wind noise either.
Follow the instructions, and you can't go wrong on the self installation
Love my Yakima roof rack!! It exceeds my expectations.great product. Also thank etrailer for the tec support! great staff always there to help thanks again!!
Ackage came 2 days early the install was somewhat easy (did it by myself)
Did not get to mount anything to it but seems really sturdy. One thing I can say is mark out your mounting points with provided stickers then put up and make adjustments to the roof rack.
Great bars and easy installation on my 2012 Prius C
The yakima jetstream crossbar looks beautiful. Quality is great. Took my vehicle for a test drive, and i didnt hear anything loose or broken from the bars. Very satisfied with the product and the instructions were great. It was my first time installing a roof rack too.
Well packaged and on time
So far so good. Purchased these towers to use on a 2022 GMC Canyon with HD bars that I already had, primarily to carry my canoe. Yakima's fitting instructions worked perfectly and the whole system seems really solid.
These were very difficult to find to fit my Prius C. It took awhile to get them but I am very happy with the fit.
The installation was super easy, and despite a long time stuck in shipping the delivery itself was extremely fast, and the package arrived in spotless condition. The manuals were very easy to follow, and the end result is absolutely amazing. I love that there's a rubber piece in the top rail that doesn't need to be cut, which makes it a very flush and smooth fit. I also love the modularity and the weight that it can handle, especially for the stuff i plan on carrying.
not installed yet but everything was delivered on time and in good condition
Your notice of schemes was a lot better than the yakima site provided. They did not suggest the scheme you did.
But when the products arrived, the instructions were by yakima. Generally worked as instructed except the tower to tower transverse mounting dimensions needed to be tweaked for a perfect fit.
Great product. Great service.
very informative and great work
the product was exceptional. I would recommend it to anyone, who has a vehicle with a naked roof. It is a solid as a factory installed rack. Josh went out of his way to get me a replacement torque screw driver because the first one from Yakima was working properly.
Order was easy to place and delivered in less than a week as promised. The sales advice was perfect fit despite multiple pieces having been ordered. Used the rack once and very sturdy
Well you asked for it so;
I ordered this as part of my roof rack for a 2021 Nissan rogue. The complete roof rack set was unavailable le as one bracket was on back order and said would ship in under a month so I ordered everything else in the meantime. Little did I know it would take a over a year to get one stupid bracket and yes, I'm still waiting. I can't even return the items I bought because it's way past the 90 day policy even though they're brand new still in the box collecting dust. etrailer, this has been the worst experience I've had yet with you guys. Oh still waiting for my one bracket to complete my roof rack
