To install the 50" Yakima JetStream crossbars # Y00425 on your 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport you'll also need the BaseLine Towers # Y28TR as well as fit kits # Y06127 and # Y06154.

When it comes to bike capacity there are a few factors that come into play, but if your bikes are lightweight then you can potentially fit 5 or 6 bikes on 50" crossbars. The factors that you need to take note of are the weight of your bikes, the width of the bike racks you plan on using, and the geometry of your bikes with each other.

If you use something like the Yakima ForkLift # Y02098 and alternate the way the bikes are facing that helps with the geometry. This bike rack also weighs in at 8 lbs so if you have 5 of them then that reduces the 165 lb weight capacity of the roof rack down to 125 lbs. If your bikes are lighter then you could possibly get 5 in under that 125 lbs.

One other thing to take note of is that fork mount carriers require the front wheel to be removed so if you plan on actually putting 5 bikes on top of your roof just make sure you have enough room in the rear cargo area for those 5 wheels.
