Question:

I have a 2020 Subaru Impreza wagon with front to back rails and a sunroof. I have read a lot of answers that state not to open the sunroof with the roof rack installed is that true? why? I am looking at the yakima brand

There are certain Yakima racks that will interfere with the sunroof of your 2020 Subaru Impreza Wagon. Some low profile roof rack designs are not meant to be used with the sunroof open because they sit too close to the sunroof.

For that reason I recommend the Yakima JetStream Crossbars part # Y00425 with the Timberline Towers part # Y33TR that fit the raised side rails of your Impreza.

These bars sit up high enough that they won't interfere with the operation of the sunroof however, I must warn you it may be very loud with the sun roof open and the roof rack installed.
