Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we take a look at the portable 30 amp gen two power watchdog surge protector with Bluetooth and WiFi and also the emergency power off. Now this is a 30 amp surge protector. They'll prevent any damage to your RV from power spikes and sustained high or low voltage. The surge protection module, which is on the inside, offers 2300 joules of protection in case of a lightning strike. And what's nice about that module, it's easy to replace.

So if it does wear out, it can be replaced once it wears out. No need to have to replace this whole entire unit. Now we mentioned this watchdog has an emergency power off feature, which will cut connection in the event of an air to protect the electronics and appliances. It'll shut down if your current drops below 104 volts or raises above 132 volts. It will also cut power for an open ground, an open neutral, reverse polarity, open circuit, or misfired connections.

Now this will automatically turn back on once the power is stable for 90 seconds. Now what's nice about this, they offer a free smartphone app for iOS and Android, which will connect via your built-in Bluetooth and WiFi to help monitor your system and turn it on or off. And they make it really easy to pair this to your device by just using this QR code right here. All you have to do is scan this QR code and it'll pair this up to your device. Now this will monitor volts, amps, and watts in real time to keep an eye on your power draw, and it'll even give you push notifications when the voltage is outside of acceptable customizable ranges.

This does offer a four second startup delay that'll get you up and running faster than other brands. The delay makes sure power is safe to use before flowing normally, and the audible click will tell you that the surge protector is on. Right up front here on this face, they use easy to see indicators. It'll show you if there's a problem and what that problem is. Basically this whole watchdog logo will light up in white if the power is steady and if it lights up in red, that's telling you there's an air.

And right down here, this LED display will show an air code. And what's really nice about it is all you have to do is turn this to look to the side, and right here it'll have a legend on the box and it'll show you what the air code shows you. It'll tell you what the problem is. So you just compare it to this legend here. Also, these lights on front here can be dim via the mobile app. This does offer a fault history, which can record up to 10 faults. It has a timestamp to provide detailed information on shutdowns. The housing, it is a nice IP 65 rating for weatherproof protection against dust and rain. And right up here, if you notice around the cord, they offer this metal bracket, which will provide a secure place to attach a cable lock to. Now, one of the unique features on this, it is uses a side entry receptacle and cover to help release stress on your receptacle connection. So when you go to plug your cord in, if you look, this just swings open and there's your receptacle. Just pull off the cover and you can plug it in. So just like that, it doesn't put your cord in any tight bind to put any stress on it. It's a side entry receptacle, so you just plug it in. Now, when you're not using it, all you have to do is take your cover, put that back on there, cover it up, and then drop your cover down just like that. And it'll cover everything up if you notice the holes at the bottom to let your cord go down through. Also, what's nice is this receptacle bay. If you look at the very top right up here, you'll see this little white dot, that's a light. So actually you can turn that on for nighttime visibility. And this clam clamshell style bay door, it'll have a ring on it that when you close it, it lightens up with the ringer right here. And it's big enough to put a padlock through so it gives you even an extra layer of security to prevent any tampering alongside with this metal lock ring up here on the cable. Few specs on this, the amps is 30 amps, maximum watts is 3,600 watts, and the energy dissipation 2300 joules.
