Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at this 30 foot long pressing rubber channel mounted wiper seal for your RV slide out. Now this is a rubber RV slide out seal that is used to prevent water and pest from getting into your living area on your RV. This part here will replace the seal that's originally used on cable operated slide out systems, commonly found on the Forest River and Keystone brand RVs. Now the advantage of this seal here it uses a reinforced insertion stem and a wiper stem junction point to ensure that the seal will stay in place, does not tear.
Has a crown tab right here to increase wiping strength, provide a nice finished look. And over on this end, they use a ball tipped wiper to improve wiping action, and make sure that the seal moves with the slide out box. This is made of an EPDM dense rubber construction, so won't shrink, crack or fade over time, and it is resistant to UV damage. And it is a very easy installation, as we mentioned, you just push onto your existing track. This stem right here goes into your track there and then trim any extra seal.
Now, they do recommend a mallet or a tucking tool for best results. Size on this, as we mentioned, it's 30 feet in length. The width on it is two inches wide, and the total height of it is about three quarters of an inch tall. And this part is made in the USA. But that should do it for the review on this 30 foot long pressing rubber channel mounted wiper seal for your RV slide out.

Replace your worn out channel-mounted wiper seal before water damage creates a costly headache. This durable weather stripping is easy to install into existing track. The bulbed blade helps grab the slide walls, so it folds out properly.Very sturdy, and I have no doubt the seal would last a long time, but there were downsides that caused me to replace it with the thinner OEM style. The barbed portion that presses into the track to install it is slightly too wide making it very difficult to press in, and it doesn't press all of the way in. Cannot slide it into the track from the end either. Once installed it is very stiff and does not flip back and forth well as the slide-out goes in and out. Slide-out struggles to move because seal is too tight. Leaves black rubber marks all over the sides of the slide-out that are difficult to remove. Online suggestions such as conditioning the seal make that worse, and waxing the slide-out let's it move easier but the seal definitely will not flip back and forth, resulting in the seal pointing the wrong way when opening and closing the slide-out (more black marks and resistance). Replaced with the thinner OEM style, which slides or presses easily into mounting track, flips back and forth, does not squeak, and leaves no black marks. Might not last as long but I can replace in a fee minutes at less cost sorry, I really wanted to like this item since it seems to be good quality.
I worked 6 hrs trying to install on 10' total bedroom slide, would not just press in used 2"x 6" board & hard rubber mallet, still rolled over & pulled out when putting slide in. Friend came to help spent another 3 hrs with 3/4" steel dowel and mallet to finally get seated in channel. put slide in, then out seal rolls over going in & only some comes out when putting slide out. Would not recommend this product to worst enemy. Now stuck with @25' extra.
Great service and great product
Much better than original wiper seal. Can feel the difference right out of the box. Not installed yet, but can tell it won’t be susceptible to same failure as factory installed.
Product is good quality, but very stiff. It does not flip back and forth as the slide goes in and out. I have to physically push it in when closing the slide, and pull it out when opening the slide. I called the manufacturer twice with the issue but they never returned my call.

I have reached out to the manufacturer about the seal and I have a few questions that I wanted to ask. Is the issue that you are having occurring on all sides of the slide box or just on one side? I see that you are in California however are you currently in or stored the RV where it is has been extremely cold?

I apologize for the late response. I replaced the outside left and right wiper seals, and parts of the left & right inside pieces. The original inside pieces were only partially ripped. The top seal is fine, its a different type. The issue has existed since day one. The seals were replaced during warm to hot weather. The only portion of the seal that flips the correct way during operation of the slide is the one that sweeps by the small window at the rear side of the slide. The window frame sticks out enough to get it going the correct way. I have to manually push the seal in to close the slide fairly easy and pull the seal out to open the slide pain in the butt. I have to bring a ladder when we go camping in order to reach the full height. The thing thats so frustrating is that the seal is heavy duty and superior to the OEM seal, but just doesnt perform the way it should. BTW, not sure if I mentioned it prior, but I called the manufacturer twice and got no response.

The manufacturer is happy to replace the 30-foot-long rubber wipe seal to their latest version at no cost to you. I will email you to make arrangements on shipping.
Good quality, easy installation, well worth the cost.
Didn't last 2 months. They were all torn up in less than 2 months. The 90 degree bend in them is where they fail. The design of those seals leaves very little to be desired. Personally I think some engineer is in the back pocket of the manufacturer and is getting kick backs for the quantity of this that is sold. The design is horrible.
I ended up installing a different type of seal which has now lasted a year with no damage. It is much heavier and mounts differently.

I have spoken with the manufacturer and they have stated that while it is possible to tear the seals, in all of their testing, its required a sharp instrument to do this. The difference in their product opposed to other rubber wiper seals, is the materials that are used in both. For Steele Rubber Products, they use 100 EPDM rubber. Most other companies will use a thermoplastic of two different durometers the ion stem is a hard plastic and the wiper is soft. Which is where the material will repeatedly rip, tear and fail. This is why Steele Rubber Products has engineered these wipers, specifically to resist tearing. From the thickness of the joint to the use of EPDM rubber. Which are both significant improvements over the original seals. If you could please send some photos of your damaged wiper seal, we would be more than happy to assist you in a solution.
This is the best replacement seal for Accu-Slide slide outs. Don't waste your money on the factory OEM type seals, they'll just crack again in the same place in a year or two. You will then end up thinking about buying this Steele Rubber seal again. Save time and money, get this seal now. Thicker, sturdier, all rubber, and provides a better wiping action.
Well made. Exactly as described. Worked great on our Keystone outback premier. Better made the the original wiper seals.
It was easy to find the part that I needed and it was here in short order.
this was a much better quality product than the factory product that i replaced after 5 years with the original seal that only lasted another 5 years . I believe this seal should last a lifetime ' it was very easy to install with a little help from a rubber mallet .

The rubber seal did not work for me it was to stiff and would not allow the slide to go in and out smooth . It pulled itself out of the holding slot so I removed it completely and use a foam seal in place of it. It is a good design and may work for some but my slide did not have enough clearance for it to fold in and out when moving
The product quality is so much better than the original OEM product. The OEM Seals failed in less than 2 years.
only co to have this.

Terrible Product. Had to remove it and order a more traditional wiper seal. This was too thick to flex when the slide was moved in or out. In the end one of my slide motors needed replacement. While I can’t say this seal was the cause, it certainly contributed to the problem. Great idea, just overboard on execution.
