Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the LED porch and utility light. So what we have here is an LED porch light. It will have a on and off switch. It's going to have 16 diodes in it, pulling about .295 amps. This is going to be for your 12-volt DC systems.
It's going to be a great way to put it up a little bit higher, as it shoots down a little bit. We do have an ABS plastic housing. And you can notice how it's a little bit taller on top than it is on bottom, so you can put it up a little bit higher on your trailers to illuminate the ground.As far as dimensions go on the light, we're going to have a length of six and five sixteenths, we're going to have a height of three and five sixteenths, and it's going to stick out about an inch and seven sixteenths from wherever you mount it.So let me take off this acrylic amber lens, and we can see all of our diodes. And this is an LED light, which, if you have any normal, traditional bulbs in your trailer, I highly suggest switching them to LED. One, they last about 50 times longer.
Two, they take a lot less load than all of those other bulbs. Also, you don't have to really worry about broken bulbs, broken glass getting everywhere. LEDs are definitely the way to go. This is a really cost-effective way to just take a lot of that load off of your electrical system on your trailer, and it really isn't that hard at all. Took me about maybe two minutes.
So let's just go over that installation process with you now.First things first. We just want to figure out where we're going to put the light. I'm actually just going to replace the light that went out on mine. And then you can go ahead and grab your new light. And what we're going to do, down by the switch here, we're going to push that in, and there's a little tab will get loose.
And then that will take off the lens. Set that to the side. And then we'll have access to our mounting holes. But, first, we're going to wire it up. So, for now, what we're going to be doing is we have a black and a white wire. One's going to be power. One's going to be ground. You do want to test your wires first just to make sure that you're hooking them up correctly. But once we have all that figured out, we just need to strip these back and make our connection.So I'm going to take my fancy little tool here, strip those back. And I always like to twist these together, just like that. Do the same with our light. And for my application today, I'm going to go white to white, black to black, because that is how they are. We tested them, and that is the function, but, again, test them first before you turn on that light. So I'm going to take my little butt connectors here, and I got these here at etrailer, so if you need some, we got them. Get them in there and then crimp them down. Always give it a good tug, make sure it's nice and connected, and we can move on to the next.Now we can go ahead and just take all of our wires, put them back in there. And whenever we open up this lens, you are going to see a little baggie in there, so the hardware is included. You don't have to buy some more. You can always just use the ones that you just took off for your other light, but might as well just put new hardware in there. Get it lined up and straight. And they are a Phillips head. And before I put the lens on, I'm going to test it and make sure that it lights up. And then I'll put the lens on, and we're done. Now for the moment of truth. All right. It works. So let's go ahead and put the lens on. Put the top two tabs in first, and then pop that bottom in. And we are done.All in all, if you have any traditional bulbs on your trailer, I highly recommend swapping over to LED. It's just the smarter move. And, again, it doesn't take much time at all. Perfect replacement for the light on the front of our camper. The switch is right on the light, vs other outdoor lights we have where the switch is inside. Might buy a few more for near the shower or outdoor kitchen.
Exact replacement of original. Fast delivery was great. One issue is the new light had no gasket which is very important to avoid leaks into trailer walls. I had to reuse the old one. Other than that it was a perfect replacement.
Exact replacement for a utility light on our 2021 Imagine XLS 22 MLE. Replacement took only about 15 minutes. If you plan to do the repair yourself be of aware 2 items. 1. The "rubber" gasket behind the light will need to be reused.
2. Have a clamp or two handy to clamp to the trailer wiring prior to
cutting the "old" light wires. There is a long run of wiring that
weighs enough to pull the cut wires through the opening if you don't.
I used a small pair of vise-grips to hold both wires.
This exterior light (above the black tank pull) was an exact replacement for the 2023 Grand Design Imagine travel trailer. Super easy install and functions as expected.
It’s been a year since I bought and installed the light on my new to me travel trailer. Ordering through etrailer was easy, the light arrived when it should and it’s a good quality light.
Most people with the same camper have had the same light go out and if they do replace it goes out again. Mine has been working the entire time and I use it quite often as I camp 1 week year round. This light comes in handy when it gets dark before 6pm and when I leave camp at 7am. I would buy this light again and use etrailer to buy from.
Part ordered was exact to original. I've used etrailer before and they have always come up clutch with matching parts. I would recommend etrailer for all rv and personal trailers.

Works great and is the same size as the one I am replacing. My only issue is that the back of it is bare metal and the one that I’m replacing had a foam rubber gasket. I can’t install the new one without this or there will be a risk of water intrusion into the camper. Couldn’t find any of the foam rubber on etrailer so I had to order and entire roll of it that will need to be cut to fit.
like cheap LED is a little too blueish tint. They are really cheap housing, only held to back plate by a few small tabs, but once you caulk the plastic down after install they are fine, be careful installing them, wires and screw holes are thin, easy to tear, I soldered them to real wire, not sure thin wire would stay in a crimp connector. Switch seems decent and nice to have a control right at the fixture. Overall they work and for price, they get the job done
Decent price, elected to buy from here because Amazon and eBay are known for counterfeit and low quality products that won't last. Bought this because I was missing the cover to one of my exterior lights on my 16 foot geo pro g16th. The cover for this fit perfect so I didn't have to do anything other than pop on the clear cover and now have a spare LED module.
Bought this as replacement for OEM light under 5th wheel front cantilever section. Easy install. Very bright! Great purchase.

Still working as good as new
This is a direct replacement for the "docking light" on our 2018 Rockwood Mini Light 2104S. It was an easy replacement and perfect fit. Note that it does NOT come with the foam back gasket so you will need to reuse the original if available or fabricate a new one. Note that this is the same cheap construction as the original. It is by no stretch water proof or water resistant. I would recommend purchasing items thru etrailer, its just that this is a cheap item.

This is a great light for either a porch or cargo area because of the on/off switch.
Gives good lighting and simple to install.
Be mindful that if your current one is rectangle, this will not cover up any faded area as it is oval in shape.
I thought it would be brighter, but otherwise works great

This is a great product. The original black housing surrounding the light cover was broken, so it could no longer hold the lens. The installation was very easy and the price was reasonable. I would recommend eTrailer to fellow campers as they have a good supply of trailer parts.
Awesome fast service, great new light
I found the light on the front of my trailer mounted next to the tongue lens missing and the light fixture frame broken. I can only assume road debris damaged it While traveling. I purchased this light and spare lens to have for future replacements! The light appears to be an exact replacement for the OEM fixture it replaced. I am very happy with this product!
I have received the product but have not installed it as yet. It looks exactly like the one that quit working and the others that are on the outside of the trailer. If it works as good as it looks, I'll be very pleased
The hardest part was getting the old light off and salvaging the rubber gasket. Simple two wire connection. Exact match so no touch up. Bright clean light.
