We're going to take a look at the Jensen Rooftop or Side Mount Antenna. This antenna has an adjustable ball base to make it either a top mount or a side mount antenna. Right now, you can see it's set up to be a top mount antenna. If you just take a flat tipped screwdriver and on one side there's a screw here. If you just loosen that screw enough, it's a ball base, it'll allow you to change it to a side mount. Then just go ahead and tighten it up, and it'll keep it in that position. Now this is a 31 inch long mast and it is spring loaded, you can see.
It does come with the 180 inch detachable cable. Attached to that is a 8 foot long braided ground lead. It comes with the three hole mounting bracket and the hardware's all included. Basically all you have to do is put that on just like that, use your bolts to attach it, and then take your connection there and screw right into there. The last thing I want to do is just give you some overall dimensions on this. The diameter on the base itself is going to be right at 2-3/4 inches.
As I mentioned, the total length on this antenna is 31 inches tall. That should do it for the review on the Jensen Rooftop or Side Mount Antenna.

Even though these antenna do side mount they ABSOLUTELY CANNOT be locked or tightened so they stay in the upright position during travel. The travel wind when side mounted pushes the antenna down. I ordered a short loaded antenna and had the exact same issue. The antenna in the photo was straight up and tightened correctly when we left. 300 miles later this is the position it was in. I corrected the antenna before the return trip and it still did not stay upright.

I reached out to the manufacturer about the antenna falling while mounted in the side mount position. They asked if the nut on the underside of the antenna has stripped? This will cause the antenna to fall if it cannot be tightened.
Reception has been great. I added a little lock-tite to the whip fastener, as I have been loosing them while towing the camper down the road. That solution seems to have resolved that issue as it is still up there and functioning great.
The antenna came with everything I needed. Very simple to install. The antenna is metal and come with a gasket. I still sealed around the gasket as double protection.
The trailer's factory installation had the radio connected to the TV antenna system via a splitter (really?). FM was poor, and AM was non-existent. I installed the Jensen antenna on the rooftop and connected it directly to the radio. What a difference! Reception on both AM and FM are strong now. The trailer's charging system presents a small amount of RF interference to the AM band, but most of that is overcome by the gain the antenna provides. Been one year and very satisfied with the quality and performance of the Jensen antenna.
We bought a 5th wheel three years ago, it came with a electric antenna. We never got more than two stations, we put this on today and we got just as many stations as our car or more. We love it wish we bought on years ago.

It has been one year since I purchased and installed this antenna. It was an exact replacement for the one I had, which was broken off while backing into a camp site. It was an easy install other than the tight quarters I had to work with. The antenna has worked just as it should without any problems.
Actually just used the antenna mast and screwed onto existing mount so did not have to reseal or restring the cable. Fit up perfectly.
