Features to know about

Effortless Mounting Flexibility: Rooftop and Side Mount Options

Dealing with awkward antenna installations is a thing of the past with the Jensen Antenna. This versatile piece can be easily mounted on the rooftop or the side, fitting seamlessly into various vehicle and RV configurations. You choose the best setup, ensuring optimal reception and a snug fitting wherever it suits.

Durable and Resilient Design: Rubber Mast Antenna

Whether you’re cruising on the highway or parked at a camp, the rubber mast design withstands the elements and day-to-day bumpy rides. This flexibility helps minimize breakage or bending, maintaining a clean, functional aesthetic that won't easily get damaged by tree branches or accidental impacts.

Extended Reach for Clear Signals: 99 Inch Cable for Optimal Placement

Never worry about signal dropouts again with the 99-inch cable that offers expanded reach for better antenna placement. Whether you're mounting on an RV or an off-road vehicle, this lengthy cable ensures you can achieve the best signal by positioning the antenna precisely where it performs best.

Seamless Integration: Universal Motorola Connection

This Jensen Antenna uses a Motorola-style connection, making it compatible with most stereo systems. This universal connector allows for quick integration without the usual compatibility concerns, so you can swap existing antennas easily and start enjoying enhanced radio reception immediately.

Easy Setup and Installation: Simple Mounting Process

Worried about complex installations? With a straightforward mounting process, all you need is a handful of common tools to pre-drill holes for the screws. The included black and white gaskets ensure a tight fit with protection against the elements, making the installation a breeze even for those new to DIY projects.

Reliable Signal Strength On-the-Go: No Extra Grounding Required

Enjoy a solid signal without fuss. Even if your previous system lacked a visible ground wire, this antenna design often doesn't require it for optimal reception. However, if you encounter interference, it's versatile enough for you to add a ground wire to maximize performance, ensuring you catch every station loud and clear.

Video Transcript for Complete Breakdown of the Jensen Antenna

Today, we're going to take a look at the Jensen top or side mount black rubber mast antenna. Now, this is an AM/FM antenna, it's black in color, has a rubber mast. It is a top or side mount, and you can do that like right now it's set up for a top mount. For a side mount, all you have to do is take a screwdriver to the screw right here in the side, just loosen it up, and that'll allow you to rotate it. Then go ahead and tighten it down that way. Then with it tightened that way, you can see now it can be used as a side mount antenna.

The cable length it comes with is a little over eight feet long. It does have a ground wire with it. It does include all the mounting hardware to install this. Just the overall dimensions, total length on the mast itself is about sixteen and a half inches tall, the diameter on the mounting section is about two and three quarter inches in diameter. That should do it for the review on the Jensen top or side mount black rubber mast antenna..

  • Can Self Tapping Screws Be Used To Install the Jensen RV Antenna Part # 44US01R
The Jensen Antenna part # 44US01R comes with bolts/nuts not self tapping screws. However, you can add these using part # 1131832 (3). In regards to strength, the self tapping screws will hold the antenna just fine on your roof so there will be no issues here.

  • Can Just the Mast Be Replaced On Rooftop Antenna for RV Stereo
We do offer various different antennas for RV stereos like the Jensen Antenna part # 44US01R or part # JAN139. The difference mostly comes down to mast length, mount type, and cable length. The actual plug which goes into the stereo is universal so you don't have to worry about brand. That said, the actual mast is specific to the base which means you can't usually just replace this part so you'll need a new unit if yours is gone or damaged. I have attached our full list of antenna options...

  • Is There An RV Antenna With 2 Or 3 Foot Long Cable?
We do have Jensen In-Wall Antenna - AM/FM - 6' Long # AN140 which is 6 feet long total, but it comes with a threaded on wire loom to hardwire to an antenna, and it can be removed which leaves you with about 3 foot long cable that would work for you and thread right into your new antenna without hardwiring anything. We also have Jensen Antenna - Top or Side Mount - Rubber Mast - 6" # JAN139 which is an antenna with 44-3/4" long cable.

  • Can You Buy just the Mast with Ball Mount for the Jensen Antenna # 44US01R?
Hello Michael, Jensen does not sell just the half ball mount, you will need to purchase the Jensen Antenna - Top or Side Mount - Rubber Mast # 44US01R for that piece. I am very sorry that that is not a replacement part. What kind of camper is this going on? Any big trips in the near future? If so, where are you headed?

  • How To Install The Jensen Antenna With Rubber Mast On An RV
To install the Jensen Antenna - Top or Side Mount - Rubber Mast # 44US01R you'll need to drill a hole about 3/8" wide to fit the coaxial cable connector through into your RV. You'll also need to pre drill some holes for the mounting screws using a 7/64" drill bit since the included screws aren't self-tapping. You'll place the black gasket on the antenna over the coaxial connector and you will place the white gasket on the inside of the RV. Then run the screws through and tighten them up...

Here is a list of the Jensen radio antennas we currently carry. You can compare these with the one on the roof of your 2016 Thor Challenger 37LX to determine if we have an exact replacement or if you will need to remove the antenna from your roof to install a new antenna. • Do I Need to Use the Included Ground Wire With the Jensen 44US01R
You don't necessarily have to use the included ground wire on the Jensen # 44US01R, but as it was mentioned in the answer that you had looked at, it will help make sure you've got as clear of a signal as possible. With that said, I would think that it's likely that your current cable has a ground wire built into it that is grounded somewhere on the trailer already, so you probably don't need it. If you find that you're having issues with interference once you've installed the new antenna,...

  • Removing the Rubber Mast on Jensen Antenna # 44US01R
The mast of the Jensen Antenna # 44US01R that you referenced can be easily removed by taking out the screw that attaches it to the base (see attached). The mast is actually rubber so I doubt it will do any damage to your cover if you fold it down, plus when you remove the rubber mast half of that ball joint is still attached to the base so it may be better to leave the rubber mast installed.

Jensen doesn't offer the whip portion of the # 44US01R antenna as a replacement part. You'll need to get the whole # 44US01R assembly in order to replace your missing or damaged whip. I'll link you to a product description video for the # 44US01R Jensen antenna assembly.

  • Will the Jensen RV Stereo Part # JWM70A Work with a Batwing Antenna
As long as the batwing antenna on your RV has the standard male antenna jack (see photo) then yes the Jensen RV Stereo part # JWM70A will work. The jack port for the antenna is located on the side of the unit next to the RCA ports. If your batwing does not use the standard male antenna jack and you cannot convert it then it may be time to add a new modern antenna such as the Jensen Antenna part # 44US01R which has both top and side mounts.

  • Static Sound from RV Speakers
If the static you are hearing on your Jensen Stereo part # JWM60A is only when the radio is being played then the issue is most likely with your antenna. I would try adjusting the antenna to see if the static goes away but it not then the antenna may be bad and will need to be replaced. For this, I recommend the Jensen Antenna part # 44US01R which is both a top and side mount. If the static you are hearing is both with the radio and other multimedia inputs such as CD/DVD's then the issue...

  • Can the Mast On the Jensen Antenna JAN139 Be Replaced With a Longer Option
It is possible to replace the 6" mast that comes with the Jensen Antenna part # JAN139 for a longer option but we do not have any designed for this purpose. If you do need a longer mast then the best option would be to instead use the Jensen Antenna part # 44US01R which can be top or side mounted just like the above but has a 16-1/2" long mast.

  • Why the Ground Wire on the Jensen Antenna 44US01R?
The ground wire on the Jensen Antenna - Top or Side Mount - Rubber Mast # 44US01R simply will help with the signal by connecting the metal frame of the trailer to the antenna to reduce interference from other products. It is not required to use this antenna, but it will be a clearer signal if you can find a way to utilize it.

  • Orientation of Plates When Installing Jensen Antenna # 44US01R
The rubber plate of the Jensen Antenna # 44US01R goes on the outside of the RV underneath the mounting flange of the antenna and the plastic plate goes on the interior of the RV. The rubber plate acts as a seal and the plastic plate spreads out the torque of the screws so it can be attached tightly without damaging the install location.

  • Can Jensen RV Stereo be Powered by Light or Refrigerator Circuit
While it may be possible to power the Jensen RV Stereo # JWM60A with the under-cabinet circuit that or the refrigerator, the issue becomes if the wires that power the cabinet light can handle the additional 10 amps that the Jensen will draw. It is more likely the refrigerator will have wires that can handle this amperage, but it is not something that I could say for certain. The best option is to wire the stereo directly to your DC breaker box which I imagine is where your cabinet lights...
