Product was exactly what was expected with no damage or defects. E-trailer staff were very helpful and informative in regards to the status of the order.

by:

This is a pretty great platform. It has held up fine, doesn't leak, and wasn't too bad to install myself. It looks nice, and is there when I need it.

by:

Always great products by RhinoRack and excellent service from eTrailer….!

by:

I love how this rack system uses the existing holes in the roof for mounting. Exactly what I was looking for. It makes for a very clean look.

by:

Just as I had expected. Top quality and no rust. A bit scary drilling the holes in your top but all went well. Their anti theft allen screws could use an upgrade.

by:

Way better for camper shells than track s.

by:

This system is great. Have a 6’ rack mounted to it and it easily supports 200-300lbs of dynamic load a d 700+ static load without issue.

by:

Great product... I think the best roof rack option for a Jeep Wrangler.
It took me about three hours to install, by myself. Not a hard install. Just follow the instructions and, the etrailer installation video was very helpful also.

by:

I have used the Rhino Rack backbone system on a previous Jeep and it worked well. Installation instructions were clear. Definitely recommend.
Also a word about etrailer. I have ordered a few times from etrailer. These folks have great prices and have really fast shipping. They are quick to respond to questions and have great follow up after the sale (5 star).

by:

Great quality and was easy to install as the directions were simple to follow.

The backbone rails look great! However, the instructions need to be revised to include information that is Armada specific. Instructions for removal of factory rack is not included and not available anywhere I could find on the internet. It’s almost impossible to remove the end caps on the factory rack without destroying the tabs that hold them in place. Also, the middle connection point of the backbone has 2 bolts, the factory rack only has one. However, the second hole is there but you must remove the trim piece that sits below the factory rack. It’s simple to remove and reinstall without damaging the clips. In order to make the backbone rails fit, you have to cut an additional couple of inches from the existing window in the trim piece in order to expose the second hole underneath. This is pretty simple with the right saw but some additional instructions on this would be helpful. Overall, this is a great product, just need to make customers aware of the extra steps needed on the Armada vs the installation on the Nissan Patrol.

by:

Nice and sturdy but was a PIA to install… prepare to give yourself a few hours to button this up securely on your roof.

by:

I find it cumbersome to work with for what I needed using various carriers. It looked like a versatile setup, but in practice, for my needs, it falls short.

by:

Best backbone I could find for a custom build. Flat lower profile more practical for my needs. Thanks guys!

by:

It is a good starting point to improve on the stock FJ rack. I have had several different setups mounted to the Backbone, but eventually found a used Pioneer Platform that works best. The whole system from Rhino Racks is overpriced for what it is.

by:

Backbone installed- waiting for feet to attach crossbars

by:

Best price on the part. Fast shipping. The install video made it a breeze. Rhino rack was a little lazy with the written directions and stamping all the parts. The etrailer video for 2015 JKU was needed.

by:

Excellent product. Be aware that you WILL have to cut into the gutter guard to install this. I used a Dremel with a grind wheel to cut a roughly 2" x 1.75" square to reveal the second bolt insert hole in the center mount.

by:

Delivered fast and it fits well. Took me 1.5 hrs to install but could be less.

by:

Platform racks are the best in the market I think. I'm removing my Platform rack from my 2007 Jeep Sahara JKU and installing it to my 2021 Rubicon JLU. That shows my love and devotion for this very durable and such a beauty to look at system. Had this rack on close to 5 years and still looks amazing. I'm not installing this rack anytime soon. Just wanted to make sure I have the Backbone system for my new JLU when the time comes. Pic of my red JKU with rack attached. Hopefully I can update with my black JLU pics later.

by:

It’s a good product. The only install issue I ran into is the drill bit I used (dewalt) for the front two holes on the hard top wasn’t long enough to work with the included drill stop and I ended up scratching the paint on the roll bars. I installed mine over the top of a carpet headliner with dynamat underneath. I did a “soft install” of the roof rack (used regular nuts instead of nylock, low torque, and no sealant), removed it, then put in the mat and headliner, then finished the roof rack install. Multiple cross country trips with my pioneer platform and no issues with excessive noise and no water leaks.

by:

Excellent product, very well engineered. ETrailer is great with shipping time and communication as always. The instructions aren't perfect and its much easier for me to follow a video. Both RhinoRack and another site have great install videos. Took me a couple hours just taking my time and being careful. I had to loosen the hard top to access the front spacer install but otherwise its very simple just follow the directions carefully when drilling thru your hard top. Measure twice cut once mindset.
The only negative was my package had been ripped open some and one of the parts had protruded and gotten scuffed up a bit. The powdercoating is pretty durable because it cleaned up well and is not noticeable really where installed. The price is also iffy. Its very well engineered and works really well, but for what it is from a material input cost... seems about 20% to high.

@Spencer No rust after 2 years just shows that great quality! Stoked to hear its still rocking for you. I am curious as to what are you mainly using your platform rack for?

  • What Parts do I Need to Mount a Rhino-Rack Platform on the Legs that Come with the # Y02-490B-NT?
From the looks of your order, you purchased the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack for Factory Tracks - 2 Vortex Aero Crossbars - Black - 59" # Y02-490B-NT. For your ARE MX topper to use the feet from that system, Rhino-Rack recommends the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Roof Tray - Aluminum - 72" Long x 56" Wide # RR52TB. Since this is designed to work particularly with the Rhino-Rack Universal Modular Backbone Mounting System - Long # RR24AT with your topper tracks, using the feet from the # Y02-490B-NT...

  • What Mounting System Do I Need to Use for the Pioneer Platform # RR42108BF on My Leer 100XR Shell?
I have a great platform solution for you. Unfortunately, the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform 72" Long x 56" Wide RR42108BF is discontinued. However, with the recommended fit of the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack for Short Camper Shells - Backbone - 60" Long x 56" Wide # RR63ZW, you will have both the platform and the mounting hardware available for installation with the modular Backbone. The Modular Backbone is designed to fit the track on the 100XR.

  • Looking For A Rhino Rack Backbone Mounting System For My 2014 Toyota Tundra
Hey Carlos, The Backbone Mounting system # RR38QJ is specifically for GMC and Chevy trucks so it would not work for your Toyota Tundra. What I recommend is the Universal Backbone Mounting Systems # RR24AT for a longer 68" set or the # RR57AT for a short 56" set. Since they are universal you won't have any issues installing this on your 2014 Toyota Tundra.

  • Recommended Rhino Rack Backbone System for a 2022 Ford F-150
The Rhino-Rack Backbone Mounting System for Pioneer Platform # RR38QJ is actually specifically meant to work with GMC Sierra and Silverado trucks so it's not going to work with your F-150. Instead, I recommend checking out the Rhino-Rack Universal Modular Backbone Mounting System for Camper Shells # RR24AT for a long (68") set or # RR57AT for a short (56") set. These backbones are universal so they are going to work with your 2022 Ford F-150 and has a dynamic weight capacity of 265-lbs.

  • What Pioneer Platform will Fit My Leer 100XR Camper Shell on My 2021 Toyota Tundra?
I have some great options for you as far as pioneer platforms on your LeerXR camper shell. In order to mount the 60x56 Pioneer Platform # RR72TB with factory Thule tracks, you will need the Rhino-Rack Universal Modular Backbone Mounting System - Short # RR57AT. It is important to note that these two parts are only designed for 2021 Toyota Tundras with a short bed. If you have a standard or long bed on your 2021 Toyota Tundra, I recommend the larger 72x56 Pioneer Platform # RR52TB along...

  • Recommended Roof Rack System For 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van
I reached out to Rhino Rack on your behalf about your situation. The confirmed that the backbone system # RR57AT does not fit your vehicle. I do have tracks that will work for you though. These tracks # RRRTV208 are 81 inches long and have about 26 rivets that install on your roof. Then you can get these feet # RRRLT600 to attach to the tracks using these two components # RRQMFK11-4 and # RRQMHD05-4. Then all you need is crossbars # RRVA180B-4. This is the 4 crossbar setup. To add something like the Universal Modular Backbone Mounting System # RR57AT would require you to do some modifications to your Sequoia and Rhino-Rack hasn't confirmed this as a fit.
