This replacement plastic dome assembly is made to seal the vent tight when it’s shut, keeping out water and debris. It directly replaces a broken or missing dome on the Ventline Vanair roof vent model VP-543, fixing leaks and restoring proper airflow control in one simple swap.
No guesswork needed—this dome is made to fit exactly like the original on your Ventline Vanair roof vent. It measures 8-1/2" overall and 1-3/4" high, so it lines up with the existing mounting holes and hardware without modification. The smoke-colored finish matches the stock look for a clean fit.
The dome includes the foam gasket already adhered in place, so it seals securely once mounted. The foam runs along the edge of the lid to keep out rain and drafts when the vent is closed. There’s no need to chase down a separate gasket—it’s built in and ready to go.
Made from tough plastic, this black dome holds up well against daily use and weather exposure. Its smooth, low-profile shape blends neatly with the roofline and keeps the vent protected without adding bulk or drag.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Replacement Plastic Dome Assembly for Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vents. This replaces a broken assembly for your roof vent. It works with Ventline Vanair roof vent model VP-543. The dome assembly seals the vent when it is in the closed position. It's smoke in color, and it does come with the foam gasket pre-installed here at the base, and it comes with the necessary mounting hardware.A few measurements to go over with real quick, starting with the overall diameter. Outer edge to outer edge measures 8 and 1/2 inches.
The overall height is at 1 and 3/4 inches tall. You'll notice that is has two mount holes. Those mount holes are separated on center by about 6 and 1/2 inches, and the product is made in the USA. Working great, NO leaks! Live in FL, very strong sun. Probably need to replace every few years, but reasonable cost and easy install. Glad I found the product.
James was great to work with over the phone. He knew his stuff and very nice to work with. He assisted me in making sure that the roof vent cover was the correct fit (and it was). It was an easy install and will keep the rain out during our wet Northwest winter.

It continues to work well after more than a year in use.

Exact replacement of the original plastic dome of my Escape 17B travel trailer’s bathroom exhaust fan. The original plastic dome was probably damaged by a hailstorm two winters ago. I saw two huge holes on top of that dome when I had a chance to inspect and wax my trailer this summer. I am so glad that there is an available replacement part from etrailer.com. Fits but excessive cost for this piece of plastic
Less material than a Frisbee
Seal was poor with overlap (2”)joint making for at best a poor seal. Seal material was of fair quality.
Outside of dome had a sharp mold protrusion.
Fit perfectly
Cover fit the "privacy room" vent of my 1985 UHaul VT travel travel perfectly. Price for item was competitive, delivery charge was very fair, and delivery was super fast!

Has not leaked since installation.
The caps that I received were original replacement caps. Installation was fast with only two screws on each cap. Vents were close to the edge of the roof of my Airstream so I could replace them from the ladder. I was done in less than 30 minutes. The customer service was terrific and I got the caps in two days. With the new caps and gaskets, I am hopeful that our bathroom and shower will be drip-free.

My 2000 E250 has a raise roof with fans out the back, I broke one of the mounts on the cover and was afraid it was not replaceable. Glad this ventline is still manufacturing my size. Thanks to retailers staff!
