Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at eTrailer.com, and today we're taking a quick look at the Valterra plumbing vent cap. These are both going to be the same piece. It's just that one comes in white, and one comes in black. Otherwise, everything is going to be the same there for you guys, I just wanted to show you that there are different shades available. So this is going to be a replacement for that vent cap on your plumbing line going up to the top of your RV, so it's going to replace that damaged or maybe lost cap without you having to replace the entire vent.
The tabs here are going to have some tension on them, so it'll sit down in that pipe, and fits snugly in there so that you won't have to worry about it coming loose. This is going to work with inch up to two and three eighths inch diameter vent pipes, so anything that has about a two inch inside diameter, I have a pipe here that measures two inches on the inside.As you can see there, two inches inner diameter, and if we push those two tabs, it's going to easily fit inside, and stay pretty nice. Pipe's a little bit crooked, but you get the general idea. It's going to sit in there, have to use a pretty good amount of force to pull that off, so I don't think any gusts of wind, or even high winds are going to be taking that off anytime soon. Although of course, you do want to run a number eight screw down there to make sure that it's going to install correctly, and snugly on your roof.
So, even if you are in a high wind situation, it shouldn't come free on you. These are, again, going to have the different tops, so you can have it matched with the rest of your accessories, and that's pretty much all there is to it.For our look at the Valterra plumbing vent cap, and as far as the outer diameter on these, it's about three and three quarter inches across, and just about an inch and a quarter tall, just going to the cap. Those tabs extend beyond the cap by roughly an inch and a quarter. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if these are going to be the right replacement for you. These vent caps didn't work for my vent pipes because the flexible friction fit metal parts broke when I tried to make them bend into a 1 1/2" pvc pipe on the roof of my RV. I complained that they were defective and received replacements for them. Eventually, I made them work using zip ties to anchor them to the pvc pipes.

It is still in place and doing its job.
I had two different items on my order. One of them was back ordered. The staff at Etrailer noticed this and sent me information on a similar item that was in stock.
