Trailer Valet RVR3 Electric Trailer Mover

Moving your RV, boat trailer, or cargo trailer can be an arduous task. Manual trailer movers and dollies require you to bend over and move the trailer either by hand or by turning a manual hand crank. Electric trailer movers remove the physical exertion, but they still require you to manually steer your trailer with a handle, which requires strength and usually requires a second person to be a spotter.

The remote-controlled RVR robot removes those hassles and frustrations. With the RVR3, you can move your trailer with the push of a button. No physical exertion is required. Thanks to the wireless, handheld remote controller, moving your trailer is now a 1-person job. The remote control's 40-foot range lets you freely walk around your trailer while relocating it, ensuring that you have the best viewing angle as you go around corners and maneuver your trailer into tight spaces.

Operation with the Wireless Remote Controller

Trailer Valet RVR3 Wireless Remote Controller

The RVR's wireless remote controller has a simple layout featuring forward/back and right/left buttons. Once the RVR is connected to your trailer with the included mounting bracket, hold down the "up" arrow button to move forward, and hold down the "down" arrow to move backward. To turn the RVR, hold down the "up" or "down" button while also pressing either the "left" or "right" arrow button, depending on the direction you want to move your trailer.

The RVR can be used to move your trailer up slopes or inclines of no more than 5 degrees. When using the RVR robot to move your trailer up an incline, the RVR must push the trailer up the slope. When going down an incline, the RVR must lead, or pull, the trailer down the slope.

 RVR3 Remote Battery Indicator

With a full charge, the RVR has a runtime of approximately 30 minutes, which allows for plenty of time to relocate your trailer. The remote control includes a battery indicator that will let you know when the RVR's battery is running low and needs to be recharged. To conserve the battery, the unit automatically shuts itself off after being idle for 3 minutes. The charger is included and connects to standard 2-prong outlets. The unit takes 5 to 6 hours to fully recharge.

360 Degrees of Motion

Trailer Valet RVR3 Motorized Trailer Mover

The RVR3 is built with 2 planetary gear motors that can move a single-axle trailer. The independently operated motors allow for 360 degrees of motion, providing you with complete control and maneuverability when moving your trailer.

Heavy-Duty Rubber Treads

Trailer Valet RVR3 Rubber Treads

The heavy-duty caterpillar treads allow the RVR to handle a variety of terrain, including asphalt, gravel, grass, and dirt. The 2" wide rubber treads enable the RVR to move easily from one type of surface to another.

Hooking Your Trailer up to RVR

Trailer Valet RVR3 Install

The RVR3 easily attaches to your trailer's frame with the included mounting bracket. For best results, mount the RVR as far back on the trailer frame as possible. Once the mounting bracket is securely attached to the frame with the included bolts, just slide it into the mounting bracket tower on the RVR unit. Then secure it in place with the included cotter ring.

Trailer Valet RVR5 Install

You can also hook up your trailer to the RVR with the included base tower and interchangeable 2" and 2-5/16" hitch balls. Just connect your coupler to the RVR's hitch ball, and then use the included spanner wrench to tighten the locking nut and secure it against the coupler. This will ensure that the ball doesn't slip out of the coupler during operation. Then you're ready to go.

Video Transcript for Trailer Valet RVR3 Remote-Controlled Trailer Dolly Review

Randy: Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer.com. We're getting a lot of questions about the new RVR3 and how it connects to the trailer. We just wanted to take some time and go over that to give you a very clear understanding of exactly how it attaches. You can see on top of the RVR, we've got basically the shoe. See, it has a nice pivot motion, that gives us that flexibility while we're maneuvering, so our trailer can move side to side. Now, the other portion is going to be the clamp. You'll see here on the bottom, this is where that shoe is going to slide in.

We'll show you that in just a second. Now, this is about as big of a tongue as we can accommodate. We're looking from edge to edge, or side to side, about 3-3/4" and then from inside bolt to inside bolt, it's about 6-1/2. That should accommodate a great deal of trailers. This is going to sandwich down on, and it holds that in place.

Now our bolts of course, we've got plenty of options here, so just depending on our tongue size, we'll want to have these bolts as close as we can get it to the tongue. Now, we've taken the other half of our bracket off, and I've gotten rid of the bolts just to give us an example. But, just picture this mounted to our trailer. What we'll do is we're going bring our trailer down so that our opening here lines up with the shoe. Right Then we'll drive our rover in, just like that. We've got our connection points here.

Just going to drop down and through our pin. Now, it's going to lock that connection point together. Our trailer tongue will be here, we've got our plate protecting it or supporting it, giving it the bite. Then at that point, just move our rover around, that's going to move our trailer around. Now, there is an option. We're going to have a kit available to get the RVR3, it's going to come with this bracket, but also the ball mount kit.

It'll attach just like this one does. It comes up, that'll give you a 2" or a 2-5/16" ball that you can connect directly to your coupler. Depending on your situation, you might like the permanent mount option here. You're only going to be moving one trailer around, mount this on there, it's always there, it's always ready. On the other hand, I also like the flexibility of having those balls, where we can just put it up in, put our collar up, and move it that way as well. Now, while we've got it out, we're going to take a minute and show you how the controls work here as well. We've got the unit on already. We need to turn our remote on. To do that we're going to hit that forward button one time. At that point, we're ready to go. Let's see, forward is going to bring the unit towards the power button, backwards going to take it away. Now while we're going forward or back, we can also change direction. That's one thing I really like about it, it spins pretty much on a dime. You can make minor adjustments, or more major ones. Here you can see, whether we're using the more permeant bracket attachment, or if we use the ball mount connected there, you see we've got good articulation. There's a socket right here, so as our trailer, if it gets on uneven surfaces side to side, or something like, we won't have to worry about all that torque being put down into the rover and trying to lift it. In this case, it allows that trailer to roll side to side, forward and back a little bit, making it a really nice, smooth operation.

This is an awesome robot. It pulled my 1,500 pound motor boat without breaking a sweat. The only hitch was that the driveway was soft in some spots, so we had to help the robot out by pushing the boat, until harder ground was found. Worth every penny and we highly recommend.
