Part Needed to Change 2-5/16 Inch Hitch Ball to 2 Inch Hitch Ball on Trailer Valet XL

Question:

I ordered the trailer valet XL with the 2- 5/16 ball but actually need the 2inch ball. Is the shaft diameter the same on both? As in, I can just get the smaller ball to fit my current locking nut/rotating coupler? I have only one trailer so wont ever have a need for the 2-5/16inch ball I have.

To provide a 2 inch hitch ball for your Trailer Valet XL # TVXL25 that came with a 2-5/16 inch ball, you can use the 2 Inch Hitch Ball for Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly # TVHB2. This part number will provide you with a new 2 inch diameter ball for your dolly.

The bases for the 2 inch ball and 2-5/16 inch ball are the same, so you can swap out one diameter ball for the other. My contact at Trailer Valet says it will just take a good wrench to remove the 2-5/16 inch ball and install the 2 inch ball into your existing base.

If you would like to be able to switch between the 2 inch ball and 2-5/16 inch ball more easily, you can use the 2 Inch Hitch Ball with Base for Trailer Valet XL # TVBB2. This hitch ball will come with the base already installed and will make it easier to switch back and forth between the hitch balls.
