Hello Jim, thanks for reaching out. So the size of the base on the 2" Hitch Ball w/ Base for Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly # TVBB2 actually changed in 2024. The base of the current # TVBB2 ball is 2" in diameter and will only work with Trailer Valet XL trailer dollies made after 2024.
The old base was 1-7/8" in diameter and we no longer carry a replacement for the old base. If your Trailer Valet was made prior to 2024 it uses the smaller base and you will need to reach out directly to the manufacturer for parts.
How recently did you purchase your Trailer Valet? Was it this year?

Hey Jim, were you able to confirm whether your Trailer Valet XL uses the newer 2-inch base or the older 1-7/8-inch version? Knowing what you found could help others trying to match the right ball to their dolly.
