I went to our warehouse and pulled one of the Hitch Ball w/ Base for Trailer Valet XL, part # TVBB2 to take some measurements for you.
I have attached a photo of the base with the dimensions you asked about noted. The base that fits into the hole on the Trailer Valet measures 1.92 inches diameter and the base the hitch ball fits into measures 3 inches diameter.
