Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this replacement N2862 key for the Thule racks and carriers. Now this part here we're replace a missing Thule key and we mentioned it's part number N2862. It is for a quantity of one key. Now this Thule N2862 key fits many of the Thule car top carriers, roof racks, luggage racks and ski racks locks. Basically, the lock code determines the correct key for your lock and it'll be stamped on your original key, as you can see right here when we do a closeup.
Now if you lost your keys, the way you can tell which key you need is you can look at the face of the lock. I'm gonna pop up an insert there and basically on the face of the lock cylinder it'll have this number stamped also, so that way it'll let you know what key you would need to order. But that should do it for the review on this replacement N2862 key for the Thule racks and carriers.

If I ever need anything to do with my trailer are my car top carriers I will definitely contact this company. I was missing keys to my X Cargo-XL car rip carrier. I purchased a key and a latch for a cargo carrier that I bought at a yard sale. The key is a tight fit but it works. The latch was a perfect match. I 1st got in touch with a locksmith for a key. When they told me it would be between $30-60 to get a key made, I looked on the internet and found you guys. $4.95 versus $30-60. Do you know how happy that made me?!! The latch was a great price also.I will definitely use you in the future when needed.
I didn't know if the replacement keys for my Karrite Explorer roof carrier would work because my local locksmith told me that there were a few hundred variations of the key. I tried etrailer and came up with an exact replacement. Everything is good.

I ordered two keys to replace lost keys for a Sears Sport 20-SV cargo box (made by Thule) that I had gotten for free (roadside rescue) and had not been able to open. I needed two, one to use and a spare just in case. The keys arrived quickly, worked perfectly -- for $10 now I can use my new-to-me rooftop cargo box! What a deal!
It was a simple key to replace one that was lost. This was for a roof carrier that we stored in our garage attic. We found it there looking for something else and decided we could actually use it so we brought it down. Everything was there EXCEPT for the key to open it. etrailer to the rescue! We tried other sites yes even Amazon and Ebay. etrailer could get it to us for less cost. Thank you for helping us be able to put something back to good use after all these years! Better check YOUR garage storage for items you may have forgotten about. ;)
I was never given the ability to say the serial number on my Thule lock...so I was expecting the key to be universal. But it wasnt and did not help me unlock the thule rack locks on the top of my truck. It would cost me more money to send the key back, so I gave up and paid for a locksmith to come and unlock the locks so I could take the luggage racks off the top of my truck.
My order with you all was a waste of my money and time.

My friend lost the key to their Sears Sport 20-SV cargo carrier. No luck on finding this key through Sears. I came across etrailer.com for keys and found out this carrier box is made by Thule. I ordered the key and within a week I was able to open the box with the replacement key. I experienced great customer service.

I lost my key for my storage box and realized this 10 days before I was to use it , found out how to order a replacement and voila my new key arrived. Best thing I did was to buy the replacement key and the nuts and bolts for our roof cargo rack. It is used frequently and it puts my mind at ease knowing I can lock it.
