It was great to find exactly the replacement part I needed for my Thule bicycle rack. Kudos eTrailer for the in Stock item.

CHECK YOUR RACK - Don't rely on the description. Our rack's trays were facing the opposite direction, so in fact, the other tray (tem # 7524703001) is what we actually needed. Working on en expedited replacement. Part seems legit and quality, shipping was excellent (thus far), but just the wrong part.

After an ugly accident at an EV charging station (the bike took an even bigger hit) we needed to find a replacement spar tube for our Thule rack. Oddly, Thule doesn't offer the part, but we were able to find it on etrailer and, though not cheap, saved us about $600 by not replacing the whole rack. Ordering was easy and product was shipped promptly--would highly recommend!
Attached are photos of the bent arm and the new part installed on the rack--good as new.

@LazerS We had just finished charging at a EV charging station in northern CA on our way from Seattle to Palm Desert and as we pulled away, heard a sickening crunching noise. Turns out, the charging cable had wrapped itself around wife's beautiful BMC road bike at the end of our Thule rack and ripped the handlebar off which destroyed the bikes carbon fork and bent the spar tube on the rack. It was pretty sad getting out and finding the dismembered bike laying on the ground, but no one was hurt and "things" can be replaced. Thanks to etrailer the rack is as good as new and I am working with the shop that built the bike in Seattle and the manufacturer to get her back on the road as quickly as we can!

@Phil Holy cow! I would have thought those cords had some kind of break-away built into them, like a gas pump does. Hopefully others take heed of this cautionary tale. Bummer about the bike as well. I knew a guy that rode a BMC when he was doing Ironman competitions in the early to mid 2000s. He was in his 50s at the time and he was doing two a year. Guy was kinda nuts. Probably the healthiest person I have ever met in my life though. Do you guys do purely road riding or are they tri-bikes? I did a few of the X-Terra off-road triathlons back in the day.

The replacement works great! I did have to remove the front wheel basket, rear wheel hold down, end cap and lock barrel from the damaged assembly to fit on the new assembly. I used a 4 mm and 5 mm Allen wrench, as well as an SKS master key. End cap held on with 1 4-mm screw. Then the rear wheel hold down slid right off the old one. Front tire basket had 4 4-mm screws. The whole assembly was attached with 4 5-mm Allen bolts. I applied some blue LocTite for reattaching those bolts--the racks and bikes wiggle a lot going down the road and it seems real handy for the bolts to stay put. The old lock assembly can be removed with an SKS master key. It is easier to figure how everything goes together if you have the old one to look at. My assembly didn't happen to come with any instructions or pictures, so I had to figure it all out on the fly. I assembled the original rack myself a couple of years ago, so most of the pieces made sense. The lock barrel replacement required a YouTube video (and SKS master key).

After a self inflicted stupidity move in breaking the original, I replaced with the above to repair to new condition. Have had it for a year now without issue. Really like the Thule sells the parts to repair and I didn’t have to pay for the entire hitch rack again.

In all of my years of being a consumer, I've never had anybody check-in with me a year after my purchase to make sure I was 100% satisfied. I am grateful etrailer sells replacement parts for Thule. They offer competitive pricing and solid customer service after realizing I initially ordered the wrong part! The one reason I gave a 4 star instead of 5 is because etrailer didn't package my items properly and some got scrapped during transit. Hopefully they will improve their processes especially shipping multiple items in the same box.

Im sorry to see that your hitch has received some scratches on it due to shipping. This does tend to happen and when it does, we recommend using a Rust-oleum type paint to cover up any scratches and prevent corrosion in the future during use. I have a link below for your reference.
