Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this replacement Quick Exhaust Valve for the Roadmaster BrakeMaster, or the Even Brake Supplemental Braking System. Now, this part here will replace a quick exhaust valve on the Roadmaster Supplemental Braking Systems. Basically, this exhaust valve will install into the end of your air cylinder that is inside of your towed vehicle, and connects to your brake pedal to apply the brakes. Just to show you what we're talking about, if you look at that insert picture, it'll show you that air cylinder.
And at the very bottom, you'll see how this installs into it. This end right here is what'll screw into the air cylinder. On this end right over here, this is where your air pressure line comes. It will install to supply the necessary air pressure to apply the brakes. And on this other side right here is the exhaust valve.
It's an opening to release any excess air pressure that might build up in your system. Now, this is designed to work with the BrakeMaster 9000 models, part number RM-9060, RM-9100, and RM-9160. And it will also work with the Even Brake model, part number RM-9400. All those systems we do sell separate on our website. And this includes one replacement exhaust valve.
But that should do it for the review on the replacement Quick Exhaust Valve for your Roadmaster BrakeMaster, or the Even Brake Supplemental Braking System.
Jameson at etrailer helped me diagnose air leak on my even brake supplemental brake and recommended I replace exhaust valve. Simple change-out and that fixed my problem. $60.00 part.
That is a $1500.00 unit if I had to replace it??

Air leak fixed!! Thanks! Problem I am having is unit does not activate when applying brakes. Doesn’t matter if it is light or heavy braking. Also, monitor in motorhome frequently alarms that tow vehicle has come disconnected and when I stop and check everything looks fine and pedal actuator is not applied at all. I unplug monitor it clears sometimes for a short time. Any help would be great. Thanks!!
Super easy replacement and it fixed my Even Brake. Very easy to remove four screws and replace the valve.
I have added a picture of the old valve and failed diaphragm. The new design is clearly to correct a frequent failure.
I called Roadmaster and Tim in their service dept knew exactly what I needed when I explained the problem. He gave me the part number and said I could get it through etrailer. I ordered the part and now my Even Brake works like new. Thank you both to etrailer and Tim for pointing me in the right direction.

Good replacement for the Even Brake valve. etrailer shipped it quickly. Good thing they have an installation video or I would have installed it backward because the new design is different from the old.

the part was smaller then the one i took out but it fit and worked, getting it took a couple days longer then expected!
The part was fine. It's not an exact replica but it works well. Had to watch the video twice to be sure which end went to the air connection. Would have been helpful for the directions to have clearly stated which end was which.

Still works perfectly, the actual valve is a molded rubber that fits inside the aluminum housing. It had simply pershed over time.
Roadmaster said this would fix my problem it didn't. spoke with Tim at Roadmaster, who informed me that due to the age of the unit, the repair cost would be $700.00, not including freight charges. This is in addition to the $70.00 I have already spent on a replacement exhaust valve. He ultimately suggested I use the unit as a doorstop, which I found to be unprofessional and unhelpful.

Sorry you had to deal with that, Greg. I will let our Roadmaster rep how this was handled as it is definitely not how things should have been done. In the mean time, would you like to get this returned? If it didn't work for your situation, we can definitely take it back. Won't fix all the issues you are running into, but it might help a little.
My 2006 Roadmaster Even Brake had worked flawlessly for us until the current month-long trip we are on. Suddenly it started dumping all of its air whenever we pushed test and failed to move the brake pedal. I called Roadmaster to find if anyone could service this older unit. They said they no longer supported these older models but to their credit Roadmaster did offer a substantial price reduction to trade it for a new model. Pretty good customer service for a product purchased 15 years ago!
Somehow, I was lucky enough to find the etrailer replacement valve on a [online] search and decided to try this low-priced solution first before spending over $[xxx] on a new one. Boy am I glad I did! The valve shipped quickly (less than a week) to a forward stop on our Motorhome trip. I followed the clear instructions in etrailer's video and in about 10 minutes, with rudimentary tools, my even brake was reassembled and functioning like new! Great product, service, and price.
After finding the right location to install the valve it was an easy install. AND, it worked perfectly. Won't know for sure just how good until I get my car behind my motor home again in the spring.

Never did get it working right.
Haven’t actually used it yet. Will be using it in a couple of days. Excellent customer service, and got it when I needed it and it fits perfectly on my Brakemaster.
I have purchased from etrailer.com in the past. Their customer service and support is top notch.
The part repaired my system. There was loud whooshing sound and the brake would apply. The bladder inside the part had failed. This was a direct fit, easy to install, and has worked perfectly.
Quality replacement at a reasonable price. Shipped and received quickly. I recommend e-trailer for anything RV.
