I checked with my tech contact over at Roadmaster and he mentioned that there could be a couple of things going on here that I'll try to address for you. First, you can access the internal components in the Even Brake # RM-9400 system by removing the 4 screws on the bottom on the unit, as well as 2 allen screws on the side. Once you've got the case off the system, you'll be able to access the internal components where there will be 4 vacuum lines and 8 connectors on the system.
If your compressor runs for more than 1-2 minutes and there is no air pressure, there is likely going to be an issue with one of the vacuum lines; you'll want to verify they are all connected firmly at both ends and then you can run some soapy water over the lines and connectors to see if any leaks are present, checking for bubbling or just general damaged lines.
If there is no leak on the lines, and your unit is instead letting the air bleed out when you perform a system test, the most likely culprit is a Quick Exhaust Valve leaking. This can be replaced with the Replacement Quick Exhaust Valve # RM-450601-50.
If neither of these address the issue, or describe what you're experiencing, let me know and I can recommend some alternate troubleshooting steps.

I have replaced the exhaust valve and I’m still having a problem, I have checked all the airlines and they seem to be fine. When I plug it in it airs up slowly , but when I push the test button it extends the brake twice release air each time and the third time the red light goes back on. Can you please send me what the next step should be. Could it be a compressor?

I have a Roadmaster tow brake pro, do not know what year it is there is a number on the side 014794. When you plug it in it never builds up pressure and will not shut off Help me I’m 3000 miles from home and need brakes on my tow car. Thank you
