Hi, there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Malone Aero Style Crossbar T-Slot Fit Kit. This is going to allow you to use your Malone SeaWing or MegaWing Kayak Carrier on an aero style roof rack. Now, this is gonna work with most aftermarket aero style roof racks or truck racks with the T-slot crossbars. Because this is a kit from Malone, you can trust it is going to work with the SeaWing and MegaWing.
No worries about compatibility issues or anything like that. They do include some instructions here to help you get everything installed properly. But this kit is going to include everything that you need, including the two mounting plates, your four T-slot nuts for your truck rack systems, four T-slot nuts for your aero style roof racks, and all the hardware and wrenches that you see on the table here. So, if you are wanting to use the SeaWing or MegaWing for your aero style roof racks or truck racks with the T-slot crossbars, this is gonna be exactly what you need. Perfect fit. Malone seawings mount to Yakima hd racks securely. Very clean appearance. Strapped kayaks in position while racks were standing on floor. Not installed on truck yet due to weather.
Worked great for my application.
Package was not completely sealed. Nuts bolts washers just put in the box, not in a bag. Missing 3 washers.All other parts were in the box. I think they may fell out of the unsealed box.Not a big deal with the missing washers.Just thought you should know. More tape on the box would have been better.
Not compatible with Yakima Jetstream bars. The bolt that goes towards the rear of the vehicle doesn't have room to install the nut and washer due to how close it is to the rear of the Jetstream bar.
If the plate was offset instead of symmetrical, it would work.
I needed a solid mounting plate for magnetic emergency lights and this kit works perfectly on my Whispbar!
