Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a brief look at this Replacement Controlled Motion 6-Leaf Hinge for your RV entry door. Now, this is a white 6-Leaf hinge that is going to replace or upgrade your existing hinge on your RV entry door, and let me pull out my ruler here just to give you an idea of the measurements. The overall height of this hinge is going to be sitting right at 9 1/2 inches, and then at the widest point, this hinge is gonna be sitting right at about 2 3/4 inches wide. These leaves are a Controlled Motion technology, so they're gonna be very firm, it's going to prevent your door from swinging freely and potentially slamming shut, which could possibly cause damage or injury to yourself and others, so it's gonna be very nice making sure that your RV door stays in whatever position that you open it to. So if you're looking to replace one of your RV entry door hinges or if you're wanting to upgrade for that Controlled Motion technology, I think this is going to be a great option for you to consider. Does not fit Dexter doors, they are way too small. Also for the price, it should come with screws.

Perfect fit for replacement
Broken old hinge out. New one in. Works like a charm. A little bit of work to remove the original. Ground rivets off and pried off original hinge. Installed new bracket with self tapping screws.
the lady at etrailer was very helpful in selecting this replacement door hinge. It was easy to install. The door closes easily. If your RV door won't close easily,check the hinge. It doesn't have to be bent much , to cause problems. It's not cheap, but you save money by doing the job yourself.
This was an easy DIY to install with a drill bit, square bit for the screws, and an offset screwdriver to maneuver past the white flange of the door frame.
P.S. For some reason, the instructions were easy to read and follow. That seldom happens nowadays. ??
These hinges were the exact replacement part. I did pay extra shipping cost to get them by a certain date but to my dismay they did not show up when promised.

The new hinges are still working smoothly and evenly. Not sure why the old hinges got bound up but these hinges seem to be a bit of a better design.
In fairness, I wasn’t sure how to rate the hinge since it ended up not fitting my RV (2005 Winnebago) screen door. Also I had previously ordered what appeared to be the same identical hinge from [online], but that one did not have friction control like the etrailer version. Basically my screen door needs a different hinge solution (if there is one???). Bottom Line: had more detailed dimensions been available it would have saved me $XX for shipping??
I received regular hinges, not motion controlled hinges - there was no friction when turning the hinge to stop a door.

Thank you for your review Dean, I just wish it was a better one. The Lippert hinge is a controlled-motion hinge, but the resistance can be subtle and is designed to engage once the door is installed and under load. If the hinge does not provide any damping once installed, it may be defective. Did you notice this before or after installing the door? Can you please respond directly to the email you receive with a short video showing how it is not working?
Not an exact replacement for my old hinge from a 2020 Lance 1995 but it does fit. You may want to measure the length of the old one if you require the exact part. The hinge is easy to install once you drill or grind off the rivets to remove the old one. The screw pattern is reversed from my old hinge and the hinge is slightly shorter.As usual etrailer has great service and shipping was pretty prompt though it was out of stock when I ordered it. It came a few days earlier than promised and that was a good thing. I will likely just put rivets in the exposed holes to clean it up.

The door hinges are still working smoothly and have not shown any signs of excessive resistance to movement other than their designed stiffness.
