Note: When using the Sturgi-Stay ports for cooking, bear in mind that the propane pressure is still high, as the Sturgi-Stay is installed before the regulator. Outdoor cooktops, grills, or other appliances will often require a regulator. Check your equipment to see if one is required.

Make camping more fun and relaxing. Moving your RV once you've gotten settled at the campsite is a real chore. No one wants to have to pack up, unplug, and go refill the propane tank, just to come back to the site and set everything up all over again. This Sturgi-Stay T-fitting lets you connect an auxiliary cylinder to your setup using the included fill hose. As a result, you can run your appliances from the propane in your cylinder rather than using up the LP gas from your RV's tank. When you run out, just refill the auxiliary cylinder and hook it up again.

The disposable cylinder port on the Sturgi-Stay provides a connection point for a small, portable appliance or propane tree. This way you can power a grill, heater, or other accessory without needing to use a 1-lb throwaway cylinder. Simply attach an extension hose to your appliance and then to the disposable cylinder port on the T-fitting.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-fitting with hoses for POL valve. This adapter kit lets you connect an auxiliary cylinder to your RV's propane system that allows you to use your auxiliary cylinder as your propane supply to power your appliances. We have the nice T-fitting here, which connects inline between your tank valve and your pressure regulator. It does have an O-ring here on the POL fitting that ensures a nice tight seal with the tank. We have the male number 600 1"x20 disposable cylinder port that lets you hook up a small appliance or propane tree using the included adapter hose, and then we also have the 1/4" female inverted flare fitting that faces outward for easy connection of the included inverted flare pigtail. The seal hose, which is the shorter hose, 5' long, the fill hose accommodates a higher flow of gas without going into bypass mode. It connects your auxiliary gas cylinder to the included T-fitting.

We're looking at, when it comes to certification, it's UL and CSA certified, and it is designed for LP gas only. Maximum pressure rating is 250 PSI. Fill hose measures 5' long, and it has the 1/4" male inverted flare and POL tank connection on it. And then we have an adapter hose that measures 12' long, and it has the 1"x20 male number 600 fitting, as well as the 1"x20 female number 600 fitting as well. That's going to do it for today's look at the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-fitting, with hoses for POL valve..

This unit does what it says it will however I think there is room for improvement. To use this system you need three wrenches on hand. A 7/8 for the hose to the gas cylinder, a 1/2" for removing the plug from the fitting and a 7/16 for the hose to the fitting connection. Why not make them both 7/16"? When you remove the hose you need to be very careful not to allow the ends to hit the dirt, why not have little caps on both ends to keep them clean when not in use. Again, it works but engineering wise could use some work for the price. This allowed us to use 20lb cylinders that cost 3.45 per gallon to fill vs 3.65 and moving the rig everytime the big tank got low.

Arrived as described. Disappointed to discover that etrailer.com does not carry mounting brackets for their regulators, but I welcomed the opportunity to dust off my diy skills. Note the bailing wire. Super pro! Also, if anyone knows what happens when one uses a vertical regulator horizontally, I'm all ears.

These Sturgi-Stays work well for expanding a RV propane distribution system without being limited to regulator BTU/H limit. We put one on both our RV propane tanks. Details of this RV modification and many others may be found here if interested:

by:

I've had these on my other RVs. Be careful and check for leaks, usualy around the valve stems. They claim they are rated up to 250psi but the fittings are marked at only 1/2psi. Whats up with that?

by:

I ordered this to save money on the 1 lb green tanks. Well it worked great for the first 10 months! It leaks around the on and off valves!! So I removed it before we had a bigger issue as this was connected to my propane tank under my Class A Motorhome.

by:

The problem I was having was orange flame on the stove. Looking on line it said that was caused by a defective propane regulator. We were using a humidifier, with the humidifier turn on we got orange flames with the humidifier turned off blue flames.

by:

Love that it works in freezing temperatures! Perfect for our off grid living!

by:

This is my second purchase of this product. The valve works as designed and saves a trip to fill the on board propane tank in the Motorhome. It is easy to install. I am planning on using this one with a Webber grill with a built in regulator. Highly recommend if your interested in using portable tanks(easy refill) with a fixed or built in propane tank.

by:

We are full time RVers. The Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting gives us a regulated external propane supply when we boondock half of each month. It is much easier to exchange a 20lb bottle than to pack up the rig and campsite for a trip to town for a refill.

by:

I am familiar with this product as I had it on a previous motorhome. I installed a new one on our new motorhome.

by:

Exact replacement to what the camper came with. It works great with no issues

by:

This hose is exactly what I needed to connect my griddle to my RV propane tank. It works perfectly.

by:

Is exactly what I was looking for.
My
grill has a regulator, so connecting to the quick connect on my trailer does not work. Now I can quick connect without having to modify my grill.

by:

Does not fit my propane regulator the round part fits fine but the stem is too narrow to snap all the way on

by:

I purchased this Sturgis fitting after trying another cheaper brand I found on a major online store. It was a waste of money and leaked from seals and connections from day one. The Sturgis, on the other hand, worked immediately and has been operating flawlessly since day one! Don't spend good money on cheap imitations. Buy good and buy once.

by:

good product but twice now the nut connecting to the diagram vibrated lose and i lost all the propane from my tank. Would be good if the nut could be a self locking nut.

by:

GOOD PRODUCT, GREAT FIT FOR THE RV, EASY INSTALLATION,
SHUTOFF VALVES ARE EASILY ACCESSIBLE

by:

The mounting holes (4) in the back were not threaded, so we could not use them. We have tried this type of regulator from Camo and Mr Heater. They use the same type of mounting holes / plate and are cheaper, but they stop working after about 3 yrs. We have tried the Auto switching regulators, for two 100lb tanks, they don't work at low temperatures (<0F).

by:

Seemed like the easiest way to get dual extra output (Buddy heater and grill).
Works fine.

by:

Great and fast shipping

What I like about this tee compared to other tees on the market is that it has quick disconnects instead of dedicated fittings.
Depending on the hose I use, I can connect one or two external LP tanks - for that extended park, without having to move the coach to get the tank refilled.
Or, I can connect an external appliance, like my portable LP grille, when I'm on a camping trip.
And I don't have to leave the hose attached to the tee where it might accidentally fall down and drag on the ground. When I roll I can just detach the hose and stow it in the basement.
Word to the wise - there's not much room in the LP tank space, SO I recommend getting the hose you want with a 1/4" MPT on the end that you'd want to connect to the tee, plus a Sturgis male quick connect fitting that also has 1/4" MPT. Connect the two together with a regular 1/4" FPT 90 degree elbow. That allows connecting the hose in a tight space.

  • Will MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting # 103538-MBS Fit a 524AS Horizontal Regulator
It looks like there is 3/8" NPT fitting attached to the regulator on your propane tank like hose # 100040-48-MBS which has a 3/8" female flare fitting on the other end. Based on that MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting # 103538-MBS would not work. I checked the regulator model and it is indeed a 3/8". It also has a 1/4" port on it so MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting # 103610 is a possibility. The fill hose has a 1/4" male inverted flare and a POL connection on the other side to connect to...
