Video Transcript for Camco Propane - Hoses - CAM59065 Review

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Camco heavy duty propane supply hose. This is a 15 inch supply hose that lets you connect an auxiliary propane cylinder to your RV or trailer's propane regulator. On this end, we're going to have the type 1 acme nut. This is going to connect to acme or POL connection on your propane tank. On the other end, we're going to have the quarter inch inverted male flare. This connects to the quarter inch inverted female flare on your propane regulator.

This hose is going to provide thermal protection in case of fires, and it's going to provide excess flow protection in case of a broken gas line. It's a really nice heavy duty hose. Nice flexible design, as well. This is rated for 200,000 BTUs per hour, and it's going to feature your brass fittings that do a great job at lasting a long time because they're highly resistant to rust and corrosion. That's going to do it for today's look at the Camco heavy duty propane supply hose..

Exactly what we needed!

by:

Product fit well but did not have an internal back flow preventer. If you have dual tanks and remove an empty gas will slowly bleed out of the disconnected hose. Not ideal but alot more flexible then the original equipment on our travel trailer.

by:

Quality products at a good price, fast shipping. What could be better.

I send everyone your way when needing horse trailer parts.

by:

Easy on and glad to be done with the old style fitting. Got the 15" to make sure I had plenty of line, the 12" would have also worked just fine.

by:

it was the right part, fast shipping, fair price, I always shop e-trailer.

by:

Items are good, but they don't fit my regulator, regulator is 3/4 and these are 1/4 with different threads, can't even get adapter to fit.

by:

Products arrived and were exactly what I ordered. I might add, your web site, conformation, and tracking info were easy to read, the best of any company I have ever ordered from, excellent.

by:

Works great and is just the right length for my propane tank.

  • How Long of a Propane Hose Do I Need Between My Tanks and Regulator
There is not really a standard hose length that is needed to connect a propane tank to a propane regulator as it will all just depend on where you mount the regulator. However, when most people use the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # CAM59005 they will attach it directly between the two tanks (see photo) for ease of access and use so this is what I recommend doing as well. In order to attach the tanks to the regulator while using it in this location I recommend...

  • What Is The Purpose Of The Ball Bearing In A Propane Hose
Hey Mark, The ball bearing is used as a failsafe for the propane hose. If the flow is normal the ball will stay suspended. If the flow drops the ball will be forced against the opening in the fitting and shut off the gas. With yours falling out the hose is definitely in need of replacement. I'm not sure if the Camco Propane Supply Hose - ACME Nut x Male Inverted Flare # CAM59065 is what you're needing but if it's not then I'll just need to know the connection types you're trying to connect...

  • Recommended Propane Regulator and Hoses for a 1998 Coleman Westlake Pop Up Camper
For a dual stage regulator I recommend the Camco 2-Stage Propane Regulator for Dual Propane Tanks part # CAM59005. This regulator has an auto changeover feature that will change between tanks when one is empty without interrupting the supply. It also has an indicator to let you know if the tank is empty or full. In order to attach the tanks to this regulator you are more than likely going to need hoses with a Type 1 fitting to attach to the tanks and a 1/4" inverted flare fitting to attach...

  • Recommended Parts to Convert Shasta Oasis Camper to Dual Tank Propane Set-Up
You can use Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59005 with your dual tank propane set-up. You'll also need a base for the second tank; we offer Camco part # CAM57236 and Stromberg Carlson # 2020-JR. If you prefer an enclosure for your tanks we offer Camco # CAM40532. You'll also need Camco Propane Supply Hose # CAM59065. I confirmed with my contact at Camco that the above are all you'll need. Pricing is shown on each item page.

  • 15 RV Propane Supply Hose Recommendation
It sounds like what you need is the part # CAM59065. This is a 15 inch long supply hose for RV propane. It has an ACME nut on one end and a 1/4 inch inverted male flare at the other. The 1/4 inch does not refer to the size wrench needed. Instead it is the diameter of the opening in the fitting. This is a standard size hose that should work well for you and would match what you have.

  • Available Propane Hoses with POL/ACME and 1/4-Inch Male Inverted Flare Connectors
It sounds like you need a propane hose with a female POL/ACME connector on one end and a 1/4-inch Male Inverted Flare connector on the other. Examples of such hoses are # CAM59065 (15-inch) and # CAM59053 (12-inch). All of our propane hoses are shown on the linked page. These include hoses with these connector types in many lengths.

  • Replacement Propane Hose For A 2021 Grand Design Reflection 32 MKS 5th Wheel Trailer
Based on the pictures you've provided it looks like a 3/8" female swivel fitting on both ends of the hose with straight male fitting and male elbow fitting so you'd need something like the MB Sturgis Propane Hose - 3/8" Female Flare Swivel x 3/8" Female Flare Swivel - 10' # MBS84FR. Before purchasing you'll want to measure the fittings to ensure that they're 3/8 and not 1/2" and check if they are NPT or Flare fittings (based on the pictures I have below). If you disconnect the little adapters...

  • Converting A Wildwood X-Lite Model T197SS To A Dual Propane Setup
In order to convert your Wildwood X-Lite T197SS trailer, to a dual propane setup, you're going to need a regulator # CAM59005, a base for the second tank # CAM57236, and a supply hose # CAM59065. If you prefer an enclosed case for your tanks, you can use the Adco RV Propane Tank Cover for Dual 20-lb Tanks # 290-2112.

  • Making A 15" Propane Pigtail With A Type 1 Connector With A 3/8" Male Inverted Flare
I think I can find something that might work for you, but we do not have a propane hose with a type 1 connector and a 3/8" inverted flare. You can possibly put one together yourself. It would require you to purchase the Camco Propane Supply Hose - ACME Nut x Male Inverted Flare - 15" Long, part # CAM59065. The next thing you will need to do is find a 1/4" inverted female flare to a 3/8" inverted male adapter. This is an item that we do not carry. I have included a video demo link below.

  • Installing an Auto Changeover Regulator on a 2018 Jayco Jay Feather Travel Trailer
For an auto changeover propane regulator, I recommend using the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # CAM59005. In order to install this regulator on your trailer you will need to attach each of your tanks to either side of the regulator with a hose like the Camco Propane Supply Hose part # CAM59053 (12"), part # CAM59065 (15"), or part # 100473-20-MBS (20"). The regulator will need to be mounted fairly close to the tanks and then the lead hose can carry the propane...

  • Can 1/4 Fittings Be Removed to Use 3/8 Hose for Regulator CAM59005
I went out to the warehouse and took a look at regulator # CAM59005. I don't think using a 3/8 hose fitting will work. If that inlet fitting is removed the hole diameter is right about 1/2 inch. Though it could be that the outer diameter of your hose fitting is around 1/2 inch in which case it would work. To remove all doubt I recommend hose # CAM59065.

  • Troubleshooting RV Stove Top Flame Flicker
Thank you for including the picture. You're on the right path as this is often a sign of a leaking hose, a bad regulator, or your stove has an issue. I would start by replacing your supply line with the MB Sturgis Propane Hose Assembly - RV # 100473-12 as a low cost start to troubleshooting.
