I had been looking for a quality propane tank locks fan this one is exactly as described. The lock is robust and allows you to lock two propane tanks and a regulator with the lock and built in key.

I was told this item was for airstream prior to ordering. I called and was advise this would fit. I recieved this and it was too small. The person who andweted the phone never said there were 2 sizes for airstream. So Im sending it back and am being charged shipping to do so when it was clearly an error wth info provided. Heading to trusty [another site] to complete my purchase

Thank you for your review. This Torklift Gaslock kit part #TLA7701 is not made for airstream trailers. The lock kits designed for Airstream trailer are part #TLA7771 that attaches to a 3/8 threaded rod on the propane tank setup and part #TLA7770 that attaches to a 1/2 threaded rod on the propane tank setup.

Looks like this propane lock will do the job. I am a little worried that the lock will not be strong enough but I figure that most wrong doers will not want to put forth the effort to try and remove the lock. I am very happy with this purchase.

Good quality and materials used. Built well. Watch out for the packaging - it's a bit misleading as the cover lists the part number for both the 3/8" and 1/2" inch versions.

It works just as intended. I needed it so that is why I bought it, but after looking a little closer at my setup I could have secured it with some mods of my own and saved the cost. But overall the product is quality and works.

Works like a charm. Perfect fit for my Airstream International with 1/2 inch fitting. Before ordering check if your Airstream is 3/8 or 1/2 fitting.

Outstanding product. like that it is aluminum construction so it wont rust. The lock is crap, I replaced with a standard outdoor rated padlock. This is the 1/2"-13 thread. Need to pay attention to thread size when ordering these.

I ordered 4 Mighty Cords and a TorkLift gas bottle lock for my Airstream. The cords were nice and recommended by the AS forum. I rodered the wrong TorkLift for my AS. I needed the 1/2" lock assembly but ordered the 3/8" by mistake. etrailer responded and sent me the correct TorkLift and a return merchandise mailing label! Thanks! Nice people to do business with. Here is the TorkLift installed on my AS.

Might be good on some trailers but it did not work on my Grand Design. See photo. Could not get it pushed down far enough to put padlock on before the end potecting the nuts jamed against the upright threaded stock.

One note: Raising the regulator caused interference with slam latch. Had to bend bracket as shown in photo. Otherwise good product.

Will TorkLift Fortress GasLock Work With A Propane Tank Cover?
You will not have any problem using the TorkLift Fortress GasLock with any propane tank cover. In the attached picture you can see that the lock is not any taller than the metal protective flange (ears) on the top of the propane bottles. For Airstreams with 3/8" threaded rod use part # TLA7771 For Airstreams with 1/2" threaded rod use part # TLA7770 For standard 3/8" threaded rod use part # TLA7701 For standard 1/2" threaded rod use part # TLA7702

The TorkLift Fortress GasLock Kit for Propane Tanks with 3/8" Threaded Rod # TLA7701 is different from the TorkLift Fortress GasLock Kit for Propane Tanks with 3/8" Threaded Rod on Airstream Trailers # TLA7771 in that the bracket that sits on the bar is different for the Airstream. The Torklift Fortress for Airstream trailers only has an L-shape instead of a bridge shape. Other than that bracket the systems are almost identical and function the same.

Will the TorkLift Fortress GasLock Kit for Propane Tanks # TLA7701 Work with a Single Tank
The TorkLift Fortress GasLock Kit for Propane Tanks, # TLA7701, is a specially designed lock that attaches to a 3/8" threaded rod of a dual propane tank setup. I have attached a picture to illustrate the lock location. Basically you would need to install a propane bottle rack on your trailer to provide the threaded rod required to use this style of lock. I spoke with my contact at Torklift and the lock will still secure the tank even if only one is in the rack.

The Camco RV Polyethylene Propane Tank Cover for (2) 20-lb or 30-lb Steel Tanks - Colonial White # CAM40532 does not include locks. However, you can add a lock to your propane tanks. Use # TLA7702 if you have a 1/2 inch thread or # TLA7701 for a 3/8 inch thread.

How to Choose Correct TorkLift Fortress GasLock Kit for Propane Tanks
TorkLift offers the 1/2-inch version of their Fortress GasLock Kit for Propane Tanks, part # TLA7702, and also a 3/8-inch version, part # TLA7701. To determine which is correct for your trailer just measure the diameter of your vertical propane support rod. In the linked video at the 0:50 mark you can see this rod. If your rod measures 1/2-inch in diameter use kit # TLA7702; if it measures 3/8-inches in diameter, then use kit # TLA7701.

The threaded rod sizes for the TorkLift Fortress GasLock Kit for Propane Tanks # TLA7701 and # TLA7702 simply refer to the diameter of the vertical propane support rod on your existing setup. You can take a quick measurement on your propane rod and if it has a diameter of 3/8 inches, you will use # TLA7701. If it has a 1/2 inch diameter you will instead use # TLA7702. Could Upper Section of Torklift Fortress GasLock Kit part # TLA7701 be Removed with Pliers
With the pin lock ran through both pieces of the Torklift Fortress GasLock Kit part # TLA7701 you would not be able to turn the upper section to remove it from the lower piece and remove it. The fitting on top of the upper piece can not turn independently of the section either. For more info on how this installs/works check out the review video link I attached as well which covers that.

What is Diameter of Pin Lock Hole on TorkLift Fortress GasLock Kit # TLA7701
I checked with Torklift and the hole of the TorkLift Fortress GasLock Kit # TLA7701 where the included lock fits through is exactly 5/16 inch. So a shackle with a 5/16 inch diameter would fit snugly most likely.

The TorkLift Fortress GasLock Kit # TLA7702 that you referenced is deigned to fit propane tanks with 1/2 inch threaded rods. If instead you have a 3/8 inch rod you would want the part # TLA7701. You would need to measure the rod of your current setup to determine which you would need.
