1997 Honda Insight

I wanted CS2 to get eyes on my trans temp in my 1997 Ford Powerstroke XLT when I am hauling my camper. When the product arrived (a couple of days before I was expecting) I hooked it up to my computer per the instructions. One easy to follow download and twenty minutes later it was ready to go into the truck. I went out and plug it in (note: the OBDII port on my truck had a black cover on it and was located on the passenger side of the transmission hump under the dash) it would not power up. Hit the trouble shooting guide and it said check the cigarette lighter fuse. Bingo that was the culprit. For reference on my truck it is the #16 fuse which is the fuse in the upper most right hand corner of the fuse box under the steering wheel. So far I have been happy with the product. I have eyes on the trans tempt and new goal to see my truck produce 20lbs of boost (note the CS2 insight is only a monitor and will not help me get closer to this goal but it will let me see it when it happens). I was also pleasantly surprised with how stout the window mount was for the unit. It solid and holds the unit steady allowing you toggle threw the menus with one hand.

I love the Edge Insight. Shows me every vital of my truck that I need/want to see when hauling our camper and towing our boats. It was just what the doctor ordered.

2001 Dodge Van

The Edge CS2 won't pull the PID list for my van, so I just get to see the standard PIDs/guages and cannot update to additional PIDs. Not what I was hoping for but it's good with those standard PIDs. Not sure it's worth the price for MPH, Temp, Voltage, and RPMs.

I asked the manufacturer about this and they suggested hitting the options button if you havent tried that already. They said that might bring up more PIDs for you.

I bought this to replace a 10-year-old Insight that finally gave up the ghost. This is a much needed update and I'm very happy with the final product. Keep in mind, this is only a gauge unit, not a performance programmer.

  • How to Display Engine Oil Temp and Engine Oil Pressure with the Edge Insight CS2
In order to select engine oil pressure (EOP) and or engine oil temperature (EOT) as the parameters that the Edge Insight CS2 Comprehensive Gauge Display part # EP84030 displays on the home screen (if applicable) you will need to follow the six steps I have listed for you below. Step 1: While viewing a gauge layout screen, press the Enter button. A gauge location will be highlighted. Step 2: Use the arrow buttons to highlight the gauge location that you would like to modify. Step 3: Highlight...

  • Can Transmission Fluid 130-160 Degrees and Be Safe
It's all over the internet and from the transmission cooler manufacturers we carry like Derale. 175 to 200 is a typical average transmission fluid temperature but most transmissions will operate within a range of 130-220 degrees. Being on the cooler side does allow transmission to last longer as heat is the number one killer of transmissions.

  • Replacement ODB II Cables for Edge InSight CS, CTS and CS2, CTS2 Monitors
The 2004 and 2012 Ford F-350s both use the same Edge InSight monitors, # EP84130 or # EP84030, and they both plug into the OBD II port on either truck and the OBD II ports are the same on both trucks. But if you are missing the cable then you would need a new one. For the old Edge InSight CS and CTS monitors the replacement cable is # H00001700. For the new Edge InSight CS2 and CTS2 monitors (with HDMI input in the back) use # H00008000.

  • Will A Performance Chip Help Me Tow A Car Hauler With My 1998 Chevrolet Silverado?
If you're having power issues when hauling your car hauler when towing with your 1998 Silverado, this chip will definitely help. I would recommend getting a cold air intake if you don't have one already. This one # EP84030 fits your truck. I presume that you have the 5.0 or 5.7L because that's what my 98 has. But this will work with the 4.3L as well. A chip goes a long way but it makes bolt on accessories like the intake go further as well. You will get more out of your bolt on upgrades...

  • Can an Edge Tuner Be Transferred From Vehicle to Vehicle
If you are referring to the Edge Insight CS2 Comprehensive Gauge Display part # EP84030 then yes, these can easily be transferred to any vehicle post 1996 with an active OBD II port. The reason for this is that they are just a comprehensive gauge display, they will not actually write anything to the vehicle's ECU. However, if you instead have a device that does modify the vehicle's ECU like the Edge Diesel Evolution CTS2 Performance Tuner like discontinued part # EP85401 then there is...

  • Easy Way to Monitor Transmission Fluid Temperature of 2020 Subaru Outback When Towing
Your transmission fluid temperature is information that the vehicle computer already has so the easiest solution would be a monitor like the Edge Insight CS2 part # EP84030 which plugs into the OBDII port and will display it easily. I wouldn't recommend going the route of an analog gauge as that's just going to be a lot of work and trouble when the info is already collected and just needs to be accessed with a monitor.

  • Is 130 - 160 Degrees too Cool for Transmission Fluid Temperatures
The cooler you can keep transmission fluid the better basically. 130-160 degrees is actually really awesome as this means your transmission is going to last a very long time. Honestly 180 isn't bad either but 130-160 is better if anything. I am slightly confused by the second portion of your question though as you said the gauge is not working but previously had stated that the gauge was reading temperatures.

  • Can The Edge Juice CS2 Tuner # EP31407 Perform A DEF Delete And/Or Prevent LIMP Mode Temporarily?
I just got off the phone with Edge Performance and the Edge Juice Cs2 Performance Tuner # EP31407 along with any other product they make will not touch any emission codes. So they cannot help you delete the DEF on your 2017 Ram 3500 nor can they temporarily clear the code to prevent LIMP mode. Your only option to prevent LIMP mode from ever happening would be to take your truck to a custom shop and have them tune it out. That being said, if you do have a shop delete the DEF on your truck...

  • Troubleshooting Edge Insight CS2 Comprehensive Gauge Display Not Powering Up
The issue with your Edge Insight CS2 Comprehensive Gauge Display # EP84030 not powering up is almost certainly a blown OBD-II fuse. You will need to consult the owner's manual of your pick-up to find out the type and location of that fuse and then replace it. That should remedy the issue and get your monitor up and running again.
