  Hey Gale, thanks for reaching out! The K-Source Custom Side Towing Mirrors w/ Lane Change Alert-Cam - Electric/Heat # KSVS55010 stick out 18-1/2" when retracted, but then that's increased to 22-1/2" when they are extended (see attached). What is the year/make/model of the vehicle you plan on installing these on? I see you have a 2024 Chevy Silverado 5500 put into our fitguide system and these mirrors won't fit that vehicle - just want to make sure you're getting something that works!

  For a set of towing mirrors that will retain the heat, turn signal, and powered operation of the stock mirrors on your 2014 GMC Sierra 2500 you can use # KS62093-94G. The other option available is # KSVS55010 and it also has the same functions as the mirrors above but also adds a lane change alert system. • Will Heat And Turn Signal Features Work On Tow Mirrors If OEM Mirrors Do Not Have Those Functions
  If the mirrors you have on your 2012 Silverado do not currently have turn signals, or heat functions, towing mirrors with those features will not be enabled. The wiring is not completed for those functions on the vehicle. If you do not have those functions but want custom towing mirrors on your truck I recommend part # KS80900. These mirrors snap on to the lip of the vehicle mirrors. They will not work with mirrors that have a chrome cap and will not work with telescoping mirrors.
