How Does Lane Change Camera Alert on K-Source Tow Mirrors Interface with Vehicle?
Updated 02/27/2019 | Published 02/26/2019 >
Question:
I am looking at upgrading the existing tow mirrors on my 2010 GMC Yukon XL that have heat and turn signal integrated - with the KSVS55010 mirrors so I can have the lane change feature. I see in the video that there is a box included with this kit - how does that box interface with the existing vehicle wiring? I already have an aftermarket stereo/navigation headset that uses an iDataLink Maestro module to integrate into the full GM functionality. I want to see if there will be a conflict.

The K-Source Custom Side Towing Mirrors w/ Lane Change Alert-Cam - Electric/Heat - Driver/Passenger Side # KSVS55010 are a confirmed fit for your 2010 GMC Yukon XL. I reached out to my tech contact at K-Source and the black box will need to be hardwired using the quick splice connectors that are included. That box is strictly for the camera blind spot alert feature that will be added to your vehicle. The other features will simply plug into the factory harness. The camera will sense when there is someone in your blind spot when you turn on your turn signal only and will give you both an LED indicator as well as an audible beep to let you know it is not safe to change lanes.
There will not be any conflict with your aftermarket stereo system as it will not integrate into the stereo or navigation features. I've attached a video to assist and the system will come with detailed instructions as well as a one-year manufacturer warranty.
