I pull my 2021 Keystone Bullet with a 2021 Chevy Colorado pickup. Chevy doesn't currently does not have a towing mirror for my truck. I found this one and it has worked great. I recently lost one of my mirrors on my way home from a campground. This one will replace that one. I just have to remember to tighten the screws each time I leave my home or campground!!

Update on the CIPA Universal Fit Towing Mirrors I purchased last year. I had to buy another Mirror this year, I lost another one in Sept. on the way to Gatlinburg, TN I bought a set this time to save money and time. Even though the mirrors have come loose they are still the best product I have found for my truck, 2021 Chevy Colorado, since GM doesnt make a towing mirror for the little truck. They are easy to installremove and I have gotten into the habit of checking the tightness of nuts, each time I get into the truck after a stop.

by:

I bought a 3rd tow mirror to replace one that fell off during our travels. That particular mirror kept sagging from the fixed position, so needed a lot of retightening. After one adjustment, I suddenly noticed it was missing! Simply slid off. (The driver's side mirror had NO problem with sagging, and didn't come off. (After the loss, I did keep checking the tightness every time I was out of the vehicle!)
Aside from the loss, I am VERY happy with the mirrors. They function exactly as I had hoped. I found that the passenger-side mirror is not really missed on the Toyota Tundra.

My experience with the CIPA mirrors has been spotty. The products are great, work really well, to a point. First, I lost one on the road, by not tightening it enough. I found that with my rig, a 26 pull-behind, the right -side mirror does little good. So most of my April 2017 trip was made with only the left side. I reordered a new mirror, and when installing them for my April 2018 trip, I OVER TIGHTENED the right side one, and broke one of the mounting clips. So again, I travelled with only the left side mirror. And again I ordered a new one. I am disappointed that CIPA does not make available the mounting clips for this unit. I now have a complete mirror unit except for one missing clip! I noticed that CIPA offers replacement parts for other units.

Mirrors work exactly as intended, greatly improving rear vision when towing our pontoon behind our 2014 Tacoma. Store nicely in the compartment under the rear seat.

by:

These mirrors are awesome! We bought these for our 2015 Toyota Tundra that we use to pull our 16ft Airstream trailer. We have been traveling for years and didn’t know what we were missing! We bought one for each side, and they were very easy to attach and are so versatile! They are very steady in the wind as well. I would recommend checking the clamps as you go, they loosened up a little. I highly recommend these mirrors!

Not well...they seemed good at first, but while traveling on a 2 lane road with oncoming semi trucks they blew off and broke. We were disappointed because we liked the better vision. We have gone with another brand that has stronger clamps and have attached a safety strap just in case.

by:

Just received my extension mirror today. Had to reverse the “hand” of it to the left drivers side, as it came that way, but it was simple.

After reading other reviews I chose to buy a third clamp to add to the bar and insure its stability, as some had issues with it getting loose in transit.

It’s now set to the position I’ll need when we take our new Travel trailer out on the road in a few weeks. So far I’m thinking it’s the perfect replacement to the suction cup style I had tried that bounced and shimmied and made it strange to view traffic behind me.

This new etrailer extension mirror clamped tight and feels very firm on the body of my 2014 F-150. We’ll see how it goes but my guess is it’s going to be what I hoped for.
Price is right IMO, if it holds securely to the vehicle mirror. I really don’t expect it to loosen.

Working out perfectly. One clamp broke from just a bit to much tightening, so I ordered 2 more. One to replace the broken 3rd clamp I prefer to use, and a spare in case it happens again. This mirror has been exactly what I expected and holds steady during highway speeds of up to 70 mph. Don’t need to go any faster pulling a trailer.

by:

The mirrors mounted up well and I have good vision on both side of our travel trailer. Have not been out on the highway yet so cannot comment on the stability or loosening of the mounting clamps. Will get back to you in 2 weeks after our upcomming test run.
Thanks for your quick shipping and follow up.

The first time I took these mirrors out on a test run, one felloff and was destroyed. I returned home, removed the other mirror, put it back in the box and hve not used it since. Most disappointed and a waste of money.

by:

Used the mirrors last week on our Lexus GX460. I tightened them down very tight based on past reviews and didn’t have any problem. They were very stable, didn’t slip and gave fantastic adjustment and visibility. They are very well built and have rubber coated pads on the clamps so they don’t damage the paint on the vehicle mirrors. Once they are set they go back onto the vehicle with ease. Great product!! etrailer contact was great! They let me know when the order was shipped, gave me the tracking info and followed up. Best on line buying experience I have ever had. I am a customer for life. Same experience with the back up camera we just received. etrailer is 2 for 2!!!

The mirrors work great! No issues at all. We tow with a Lexus GX460 and we had some concerns of damage to our vehicle side mirrors. We are happy to report that the trailer mirrors work perfect and we have never had any damage and we have never lost a mirror.

@Don Glad to hear your CIPA towing mirrors are working well for you!

by:

I was looking to replace the old style strap-on towing mirrors I had been using, and thought these looked interesting. Ordered them and they arrived quickly and installed easily. I read some of the negative reviews. and attributed most to "operator error", and forged ahead. They attach easily and securely to my 2011 Ford Ranger's original mirrors, and I have really enjoyed having them. Give me a much better view of the road behind me and my trailer, and have survived several trips on secondary highways with speed up to 60mph. Only problem so far has been the occasional and rare semi I encounter on these roads which have, a couple of times created a wake turbulence strong enough to fold back the driver's side mirror. I just verbally abuse the trucker, roll down the window, and push the mirrors back to the locked position. The extension hangs on all the way and pops back out with the original mirror. No problem. Attach them correctly, firmly, and check often, and they perform as promised. Good product - Great service! Thanks,
etrailer!

Perfect, even after regular use no vibration

by:

My first set of mares. I lost one when a semi went by. I saved the clamp, ordered another one. Now I have three clamps on each mirror and there's Rock solid.

by:

after all kinds of checking tightness I still managed to lose one mirror on the intestate. But in evaluating my mounting I am not necessarily blaming the product. I did however realize there is another method of attaching the mirror to my jeep. SO see attached image. SO far works great and I think it looks better than clamping to the top of my OEM mirrors.

by:

Opened the boxes up, read instructions and put on! Simple and yet good looking mirrors which are very functional. Great product for those applications where the slip-on mirrors aren't made.

by:

Perfect fit for our 2021 Subaru accent!

by:

These mirrors are awsome! 2001 Dakota. They will mount on top or bottom of factory mirrors, great view and no shaking. Quality product and great price! ! Thanks Etrailer

by:

We’ve actually owned these mirrors for three years. The first two years I would have rated them four stars just due to the vibration experienced while driving. Unfortunately in our third year of using them something changed. Our first trip of the season the drivers side mirror was sucked off our vehicle by a passing truck moving in the opposite direction. Luckily, we had a spare. With the spare installed I found that it wouldn’t maintain my adjustments. On that trip home that mirror was also sucked off the vehicle by a passing truck moving the same direction. Ordered another mirror which was lost on our next trip. Needless to say I’ve lost confidence in these mirrors and switched to a brand that tightly snaps over the vehicles mirror.

by:

Both flew off in the wind in a short period of time. Could be the shape of a dodge durango mirrow but a shorter version of a clamp on extension mirror did not fly off, could be the torque of the longer arm. We are having better luck with dual rubber version of extension mirrows

by:

Works great on the FJ Cruiser. I can now see the sides of my 8'wide camper when towing.

Not perfect . The bracket was tightened as tight as I felt I could without cracking the mirror housing but after 5 hours of driving the assembly came off the mirror and was crushed by following traffic. When on the mirror these units really helped.

by:

I originally purchase the CIPA Universal Fit Clip on Mirrors for my Toyota Highlander. Do not waste your money. They constantly moved while driving and did not keep the trailer in view. The CIPA clamp on mirrors stay in place and provide great viewing angles with NO Vibrations! Easy to install, and can be adjusted many ways. I must also say that etrailer provided excellent customer service and price matched to [other on-line retailer]. Very pleased!

by:

Easy to install. I bought a pontoon boat and trailer which requires a mirror extension. My range of view is greatly improved. The clamps attach very nice to the mirrors which is much better that a rubber strap configuration. Fully adjustable bracketry with a solid mount and very little vibration. Highly recommended.

by:

I purchased this product in advance of renting a large toy hauler to take my family camping back in October. The package said it fits most vehicles including my Ford F-150. I followed the instructions and positioned the mirror with the brackets on top like the directions stated. However any vibration would have caused it to fall off as it did with little effort of my pulling on it. The good news is that if you mount this with the brackets on the bottom of your mirror it goes no where. I did not have to readjust, or retighten these mirrors once during our trip. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking to purchase this product.

by:

This was a replacement for one that fell off, probably due to my nit tightening it enough. It has worked fine, easy to install on my Vovlo XC60 mirror.

by:

I do not normally do reviews. I am extremely happy with these mirrors. Easy to install and adjust. Very secure. Large mirror can be vertical or horizontal. Best part is they are stable at highway speeds, unlike other universal fit mirrors I have returned.

Vehicle is 2018 Ford Transit van. Telescoping mirrors are not available. This is the best option I have found to safely tow a trailer.

Great price and fast shipping from etrailer. Highly recommended.

About 5k miles towing and still working great

by:

Excellent product. Easy to put on. Took them off, put them in my camper storage. Next trip out, when I put them on, I did not even need to adjust them! The mirrors are slight contour and slight magnification, which makes them easy to see. There is virtually NO vibration during travel. (I have had others that shimmied so bad you could not see a thing.) I flip my driver side mirror in frequently to check my mail box, so it is not very stiff. So I ran a small bungee from the clamp to the grill under my hood. Did this for both sides. My driver side flipped in when traveling at interstate speeds, so I put a second bungee on it. Fixed the problem. Allen bolts at top of clamp are rusting after 2nd use. All in all though, I am very pleased with this product and it is well worth the money spent. It is the only product I could find to properly fit my 2011 Toyota Tacoma, because it clamps on the mirror frame and does not rest on my truck mirrors. Great Product!

Used these for a year, and camping about 10 times during that year, all over the state and they still work and look great! I highly recommend this product!

by:

I had to modified the part that screws down. The part is the feet . They was too thick so I used a piece of 22 gauge 1” wide and 5” long and welded to nuts on it so the ball part would fit inside the nut. I tightened it up it the mirrors worked perfectly. The are worth the money but if you have mirrors like my on a 2015 Ford you will need to do something like what I did. Out side of that I would give them mirrors a 5 star rating. I think the company needs to make the feet thinner and a little wider to fit my kind of mirrors. It was a easy fix if you have a welder

Thanks for sharing Billy! Since these are universal towing mirrors, the fit can vary a bit from one vehicle to another. I'm glad you were able to come up with a solution to get them fitting just right on your truck. We appreciate you taking the time to explain the modifications you made. That can be really helpful for someone with a similar mirror style who's considering these mirrors. What are you usually towing with your F-150?

Hey, Kevin. I'm really sorry to hear that you're having so many issues with the other style of mirrors. There is a clamp on mirror, part # CM11980. It will clamp on the outer shell of the mirrors. I included some pics of how the are supposed to fit as well as an inventive way another customer of ours attached them to their Jeep. You don't need much space for it to clamp between the side mirror shell. The part that slides between that space is 1/16" thick at the thickest point. These...
