The Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack is made for serious work and adventure. With a 500 lb on-road and 300 lb off-road weight capacity, it’s built to handle lumber, ladders, kayaks, or rooftop tents without flexing under pressure. The 78" long HD crossbars give you plenty of space to spread out your gear, while the 36"-89" crossbar spread adjusts to match what you’re hauling. Whether it’s a weekday job or a weekend getaway, this rack is ready for both.
This rack’s uprights adjust from 19" to 30" above the bed rails, so you can fine-tune the height for whatever you’re carrying. Keep it low for easy loading or raise it up to clear taller cargo or line up with other racks. Etched measurements on the uprights make setup simple. Once it’s dialed in, the aluminum uprights stay solidly locked in place, giving your gear the support it needs wherever you go.
With T-slots running inside and outside each upright and across the top and bottom of the crossbars, you can mount accessories exactly where you want them. Add eye bolts, load stops, off-road lights, or a ladder roller without drilling. Tie-downs on the uprights and crossbar endcaps make it simple to secure kayaks, bikes, or construction materials. Rubber strips in the top channels help cut wind noise and keep cargo from slipping.
Built from sturdy aluminum with a black powder coat, the OverHaul HD is rustproof and tough enough for years of use in any weather. BedGrip clamps grab the bed rails securely, and the QuickChange system lets you remove or reinstall the rack in minutes—no drilling required. The rack weighs 50 lbs total, so it’s strong without being a hassle to move.
Yakima tested this rack beyond standard ISO requirements to make sure it holds up to real off-road driving—everything from speed bumps to sharp swerves. It’s a proven setup for overlanding, contracting, or hauling outdoor gear on rough backroads. Built-in SKS lock cores keep it secure, and once the work’s done, the bottle openers on each upright are a small but welcome detail after a long day.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It sounds like you’ve got some awesome adventures ahead once the weather warms up. We’d love to hear how the rack holds up once you get everything loaded. I am also curious, what kind of bikes are you hauling?

This product has been working fantastically! It has done everything I expected and hoped it would do and looks great as well. Very user friendly and the family has enjoyed the river trips and bike trips alike. Being able to put 4 pricey mountain bikes on a rack and feel completely at ease that they are solidly attached is a great feeling. And I stand by my original post regarding your customer service and integrity of honoring the earlier advertised price. Thank you.

I continue to be very happy with the racks. They show no signs of wear despite heavy use. Ive used them for transporting both kayaks and lumber without issue. I expect them to outlast the vehicle.

Having had the rack for a year now, I am even more impressed with it. I have started carrying lumber more & more. I carried two 16 4x12s and it felt very secure. Because my bed is only 5 long the racks are pretty close together. Nonetheless- it handled the weight easily. The fact that the uprights slope a bit toward the center of the truck creates a trapezoid that is very stable side to side. In addition, the angled buttresses provide front to back stiffness. It amazes me that other companies build racks with parallel uprights.

One year later and the racks are still working great, no issues. Use them to carry my kayaks use the Thule hullavator and a Yakima cargo box. I have a few pictures if there is a way to attach images to comments.

I totally agree about the t-slots, it makes installing and uninstalling the rack so much easier than some other racks that don't. It also looks great on your tuck, Sean!
