Question:
Hi, Were looking for a quality 3 bike hitch mounted and swing away/tilt away rack. Im having trouble deciding b/t these 2 models - what sets them apart? Im also confused about which is the better hitch size - does the 2 inch offer more stability? Also, ease of removing the rack from the hitch is important to me. We dont mind paying more money for the Helium Pro if its worth it. One last question - I read that THULE changed their straps - Im familiar with their previous ones and found them easy to use and well made -how do the new ones compare? I love your website - lots of great information well presented, Thanks

The Thule Helium Pro 3 Bike Rack part # TH9043PRO and Thule Camber 4 Bike Rack part # TH9056 are both excellent options. The main difference between them is weight, the Thule Helium is made of aluminum so it only weighs 20 lbs and the Thule Camber is made of steel so it weighs more at 34 lbs. Therefore, the Thule Helium will be easier to get on an off the vehicle. In regards to hitch size, they both have a 1-1/4" shank but also come with a 1-1/4" to 2" adapter. The bike rack will be more stable without the adapter but only marginally.
In regards to the straps, these have a ratchet design now so it just makes things quicker and easier.
