Rotating Arms with Ratcheting Hooks

RockyMount MonoRail Solo Bike Rack Adjustable Arms

The MonoRail has ratcheting hooks that grab your bikes firmly by the front wheel - not the frame. It's perfect for carrying carbon bikes or bikes with a custom paint job. To load your bikes, simply place your front wheels in the cradles, rotate the arms up and over the wheels, and press down firmly on the ratcheting hooks.

Pivoting Rear Wheel Cradles

RockyMount MonoRail Solo Adjustable Ratchet Straps

The rear wheel cradles accommodate a wide variety of bike wheelbases. They pivot front to back, adjusting automatically to each bike's wheelbase - no need for sliding and tightening. Secure the wheels in place with the built-in ratcheting straps. The straps also include extenders for use with fat bikes.

Adjustable Bike Trays

RockyMounts MonoRail Solo Adjustable Bike Trays

The front and back trays adjust 3" side-to-side to ensure you have enough space when loading your bikes. Just remove the bolts where the tray attaches to the bottom of the rack, slide the trays left or right to achieve the desired spacing, and then reinstall the bolts. This will prevent your bikes' handlebars from becoming tangled, and it eliminates bike-to-bike contact.

Front-Mounted Release Lever for Easy Tilting

RockyMounts 2-Bike MonoRail Tilt Access

The rack tilts down - with or without your bikes loaded - so you can access your vehicle's rear cargo area. Because the tilt-release lever is located at the front of the rack, you don't have to worry about crawling through your bikes or squeezing between the rack and the vehicle to pull it. When you raise the rack back up, you'll hear a click to indicate it's secure.

RockyMounts 2-Bike MonoRail Solo Fold Up Design

When the rack is unloaded you can pull the lever to fold it up for storage. This means you don't have to remove it to park in small lots at the trail head or in cramped parking garages.

Easy Installation

RockyMounts MonoRail Anti Rattle Hitch Pin

It installs with a threaded, anti-rattle hitch pin. Simply slide the shank into your 2" hitch receiver, insert the threaded hitch pin, and tighten it down with the included tool. This will reduce noise and movement while the rack is installed.

RockyMounts MonoRail Solo Hitch Adapter

A removable adapter sleeve is included so the rack can be converted for use with 1-1/4" hitch receivers. The sleeve attaches to the shank with a single screw and can be installed or removed quickly.

Complete Security

RockyMount MonoRail Solo Built-In Cable Lock

Included locks secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle. The integrated cable lock threads around your bikes' frames and inserts into the lock that slides along the cable.

RockyMount MonoRail Solo Locking Hitch Pin

The hitch lock simply snaps onto the hitch pin and locks in place. The cable and hitch lock are keyed alike, so you'll only need 1 key for both locks.

  • Can The Curt 2-Bike Platform Rack Hold A 60lb E-Bike And 45lb Mountain Bike
Hi Lynne, The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack # C18085 would not be able to handle the weight of your 60lb e-bike. If you don't have fenders then you could switch to a wheel mount design. If you do have fenders then you'll just need to pick up a bar adapter # HRBA-PRO since you have a step-thru frame. Hitch classes will tell you the receiver tube opening size and typical capacity range. When it comes to certain bike racks, especially ones hauling heavy e-bikes, certain class requirements are...

  • Recommended 2-Bike Rack That Can be Used with a Loading Ramp
No there is not unfortunately. We do have plenty of other awesome choices that do offer a loading ramp however the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # RKY10007-05 is not one of them. Instead, I recommend checking out the Yakima StageTwo Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches # Y87VR. This bike rack is competitively priced with the RockyMounts MonoRail however not only is there a ramp available # Y39VR, but this rack has a higher per-bike capacity at 70-lbs per bike (when used...

  • Wheel Mount Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for 2018 Honda Accord with Class I Trailer Hitch
Thank you for the information! It looks like you have the Class I Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24972 installed on your 2018 Honda Accord. The RockyMounts MonoRail Solo Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # RKY10007-05 will technically fit the 1-1/4" receiver opening but RockyMounts states to only use their rack in Class II 1-1/4" receivers which are a little stronger so for your application we'll need to look at an alternative solution. I recommend checking out the Kuat Transfer V2...

  • What is Difference Between RockyMounts MonoRail and MonoRail Solo Bike Rack
The big difference is that the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo 2 Bike Platform Rack # RKY10007-05 that you referenced can be used as either a single or two bike rack whereas the RockyMounts MonoRail bike rack # RKY10003 does not have the ability to do this. It would always be a two bike rack.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and 2 Fat Bike Carrier for 2018 Hyundai Elantra Sedan
Your 2018 Hyundai Elantra does only have one Class I hitch available as long as your Sedan is not the sport model. In that case, we have the Curt # C11424 which is the class I with a 1-1/4 inch receiver. This Curt hitch # C11424 will require the stabilization strap # 18050 when using a bike rack or accessory. Then for your bike rack I recommend the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # RKY10007-05. This is a foldable bike rack that will...

  • Recommendation For Trailer Hitch and Wiring on a 2022 Toyota Prius
I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C11473. This is a Class I, 1-1/4" hitch that works well for light-duty towing. It is a bolt-on installation so no welding is required and comes complete with needed hardware for installation. It is rated for 200 lbs. of tongue weight and 2,000 lbs. max gross trailer weight. This will work well for towing your boat or carrying a bike rack. For needed wiring, I suggest the Curt T-Connector, # C69KR. With this, you can easily install a 4-way...

  • Availability of RockyMounts MonoRail Solo 2 Bike Platform Rack with 2 Shank
The RockyMounts MonoRail Solo 2 Bike Platform Rack # RKY10007-05 is only available with the 1-1/4" shank that comes with the adapter sleeve for a 2" receiver. The section for a second bike can be removed though so that it's the exact same thing as the MonoRail Solo 1 # RKY10007. If your only reservation is about the adapter sleeve then I'd go with this bike rack because all of the other bike racks either can't carry up to two 60 lb bikes, or they can't be converted into a one bike rack. • Can Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack Fit Both 1-1/4" and 2" Hitch Receivers
I wish it were that simple, but since the 1-1/4" Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH23JV uses the anti-rattle device as the main way to secure the rack to the vehicle, Thule doesn't make an adapter to a 2" receiver and I can't safely recommend using one. The only way to get the rack so that it will work with a 2" receiver is to purchase and install the Replacement Lower Assembly # TH37MY. This then changes the rack to the version part # TH83JV that works with a 2" hitch receiver. If...

  • Recommendation for a Bike Rack that Will Hold 4.8 Inch Wide Fat Bike Tires
We do have bike racks that will accept 4.8 inch wide fat bike tires but the Hollywood Racks TRS # HR3500 only accepts bike tires up to 4.5 inches wide. The RockyMounts MonoRail, # RKY10007-05, will accept fat bike tires up to 5 inches wide right out of the box. I have linked a video showing the rack loaded with a fat bike. This rack has the benefit of wide spacing between the bikes making it easier to fit both bikes on the rack; even if both are fat bikes!

The big differences between the two versions of the RockyMounts Monorail bike racks you mentioned is that the part # RKY10003 only fits the 1-1/4 inch hitch size and can only be used as a 2 bike rack whereas the part # RKY10007-05 that you also mentioned fits 2 inch and 1-1/4 inch hitch sizes and can be split up to be a single bike rack as well as use as a bike rack for two bikes.

This hitch has is a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver with 200lb tongue weight rating and a 2000lb trailer weight rating. This is a great option for carrying a bike rack or a cargo carrier. • Platform Style Bike Rack For Fat Bikes Recommendation
The Swagman XTC-2, part # S64670, can accommodate bike wheels up to 2-1/2 inches wide. Since the wheels on a fat bike are typically much wider, your bike would not work with the XTC-2. We do have a bike rack that will work for you. I recommend the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # RKY10007-05. This is a platform-style rack that will work in either 1-1/4 or 2 inch receivers. This carrier will handle bike wheels up to 5 inches wide.

I do have an alternative option available, but there are no adapters currently available to allow for smaller tires on the Thule Helium # TH44VR, unfortunately.
