Advent Air Accessories and Parts - ACMSCKIT

  • Start Capacitor
  • Advent Air

If your generator or shore power needs a little extra help to start your RV AC unit, this start capacitor will give it the power boost it needs. Relay switch turns the capacitor off once power has been supplied.

Features:

  • Start capacitor jumpstarts the AC (sold separately) when a campsite or generator doesn't provide enough power
    • Stores energy that will later be used for the next startup
  • Relay switch turns starts capacitor off once sufficient power has been supplied
  • Easy, bolt-on installation with the included hardware

Specs:

  • Overall dimensions: dimensions: 2-1/8" long x 3-5/8" deep x 6-5/16" tall
  • 1-Year warranty

How the Start Capacitor Works

If your campsite or generator isn't able to draw the power you need, then you may have difficulty starting your AC unit. The included start capacitor, however, can eliminate this problem. The capacitor stores energy that will later be used to jumpstart the AC. Once the sufficient amount of power has been supplied to the AC, the compressor will start to run, and the internal relay switch will turn the start capacitor off. At the same time, the compressor will send "back voltage" to the relay switch and capacitor in order to energize them for the next startup.

Simple Installation

To install, bolt it to the fan motor support with the included hardware and then route the wires to the run capacitor.

Install was a breeze, the hardest part was getting it on the roof. Air conditioner ran good and cooled camper quickly. Much better then the older unit.

by:

Syrus provided outstanding technical support allowing me to replace an obsolete AC and for the most part it was a drop in installation. All I had to do was cut the old pigtail off and wire the new one directly to the thermostat included!

by:

Easy to instal altho I feel it should have been included with the new air conditioner

by:

new AC fit perfect !! easy installation ...

First time using this product, yet to see how it may work yet in a campground. Easy installation.

by:

Amy, I want to thank you for your help in me being able to install my Camper's AC. Once I got the harness you advised me to get I was able to hook it up. It works great. I received the Capacitor on Saturday I installed that yesterday. It works perfectly on 120v. I have one more test for it when I hook up to my generator's on Thursday when I'll be camping. I'm sure it will be just find. Thank you again. It's a pleasure doing business with you.

by:

Works as advertised. Originally was told that this part wouldn't ship for over two months, I ordered it as a bundle with new rooftop ac unit, however it arrived same day with the new ac unit! Easy install and helping to cool my RV!

by:

my order left etrailer within an hour of being placed. it arrived freight free 3 days later via ups. the ac was packaged very well and arrived without any visible damage. it is compatible with original thermostat and ceiling control box from a 2003 dometic 15000 btu duo therm . had to make a minor adjustment to the partition between the air chambers.the original ceiling plate was reusable as well.

by:

Fast delivery

by:

Thanks it is working great
Thanks

by:

Received after delivery of the roof AC unit, but well before the initial backorder date. Thanks Will ... great to work with

by:

Easy install. One wire to red wire terminal & the other one to the middle terminal of the capacitor. Done.

by:

It only makes sense to install this extra capacitor to your RV air conditioner. This unit arrived with easy to follow printed instructions and the video instructions were a great help. Installation only took a few minutes.
***One tip I would offer when attaching the capacitor to the blower - screw in the attachement screws first without the capacitor. The screws are a tight fit intially and this step will allow them to go in much easier when you are attaching the capacitor body.

As always etrailer has the right products at the right price with excellent customer service.

Hello Tim. We can definitely set you up with a complete AC system with an Advent low profile unit. We currently do not offer these parts as a package, but you can purchase all of the exact same components separately. To answer your question, yes, the same air handler will work with the low-profile unit. • Parts Needed For A Complete Advent Air Low Profile Air Conditioner System
Hey Chad, You'll need an air distribution box to go with your rooftop unit # ADV79FR to get the other half of the system. You could go with the # ACDB if you want the controls built into the air distribution box or the # ACRG15 if you'd prefer a wall mounted thermostat. If you go with the wall mounted thermostat then you'll also need to pick up some wiring to run from the thermostat to controller built into the air distribution box. While not necessary it is recommended to also install...

  • Air Conditioner Replacement For Dometic 59136.331 That Ran Out Of Freon
The Dometic air conditioner units are sealed therefore they cannot be recharged with refrigerant. The only option is to replace the unit. Since your unit is a 15,000 BTU unit I recommend to replace the AC with a unit at least 15,000 BTU. I recommend Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup w/ Start Capacitor part # ACDOM150 which is a 15,000 BTU system that will easily plug into your existing Dometic setup without replacing wiring. We can get your Keystone Montana set up with an added air conditioner to replace your current fan. I really like the Furrion Chill systems as they tend to be quieter than others, and gives you really nice cooling via its air distribution box that has the controls directly on it. For a smaller AC, like you mentioned, there is a 13,500 Btu unit that will be perfect, and is the following part number: - Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR52PR

  • Replacement for Carrier AC on 2009 Monaco
Hi Dave; the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150 will be compatible with your Carrier setup using the # ACCARKIT. The adapter wiring kit makes it a plug and play installation. We do have replacement AC shrouds for your Coleman Mach Unit. You will want the MaxxAir TuffMaxx Replacement Shroud - White # MA00-325001 which is a confirmed fit for your AC unit. While you are replacing this, I also recommend you add the Start Capacitor for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners # ACMSCKIT which will allow your AC to start without requiring extra amperage, so it will start the first time and every time you need it by storing the energy needed for that start power draw.

To match the contents of the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner Kit # ACM135CH you were looking at (except for the Air Distribution Box) you would just need part # ACM135 for the 13,500 Btu AC itself, # ACMHD for the Heat Strip, # ACMSCKIT for the Start Capacitor, and # ACRG15 for the upgraded...

  • Recommendations For Adding AC To A 14 X 8 Enclosed Trailer
We can definitely help set you up. For a 14' x 8' enclosed trailer, I believe a 13,500 BTU unit would be sufficient. I recommend the Advent Air # ACM135. Advent makes a solid AC unit, which will fit perfectly in the 14" hatch on the roof. Keep in mind the roof does need to be between 2-1/2" and 5" thick in order to install this unit. • How Many Amps Does Advent Air RV Air Conditioner ACM150 Use?
I am not quite sure where you're seeing 30 amps for the Advent Air # ACM150, but it has a total amp draw of 15 amps when running, with 12.4 amps being the compressor and the remaining 2.6 amps being the fan motor. This will be just fine at replacing your Duo Therm 13.5k BTU, and the wiring will be more than adequate for this power. The only time the amps will be really different is with startup. It's not a bad idea to install a start capacitor like # ACMSCKIT if you're going to be powering...

  • Recommended Replacement for Dometic 15K BTU Rooftop RV Air Conditioner
In order to replace a Dometic Rooftop RV Air Conditioner I recommend using the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner, part # ACM150B for black or part # ACM150 for white. These are excellent replacement options which offer a direct fit. It comes with a two year warranty as well.
