If your campsite or generator isn't able to draw the power you need, then you may have difficulty starting your AC unit. The included start capacitor, however, can eliminate this problem. The capacitor stores energy that will later be used to jumpstart the AC. Once the sufficient amount of power has been supplied to the AC, the compressor will start to run, and the internal relay switch will turn the start capacitor off. At the same time, the compressor will send "back voltage" to the relay switch and capacitor in order to energize them for the next startup.
To install, bolt it to the fan motor support with the included hardware and then route the wires to the run capacitor.

Hard start capacitor kit istalled in 5 minutes and works perfectly to keep the Advent AC cooling and never popping the 15A breaker, like happened regularly since install of the Advent. etrailer come through again!
Works as advertised. Originally was told that this part wouldn't ship for over two months, I ordered it as a bundle with new rooftop ac unit, however it arrived same day with the new ac unit! Easy install and helping to cool my RV!
Relatively easy to install. Putting each connectors on the right pin was a little confusing, but worked out ok. Fast shipping. Very satisfied. Working with Lance was very pleasant.
my order left etrailer within an hour of being placed. it arrived freight free 3 days later via ups. the ac was packaged very well and arrived without any visible damage. it is compatible with original thermostat and ceiling control box from a 2003 dometic 15000 btu duo therm . had to make a minor adjustment to the partition between the air chambers.the original ceiling plate was reusable as well.

This was an easy installation, thanks to the etrailer vidio.
It only makes sense to install this extra capacitor to your RV air conditioner. This unit arrived with easy to follow printed instructions and the video instructions were a great help. Installation only took a few minutes.
***One tip I would offer when attaching the capacitor to the blower - screw in the attachement screws first without the capacitor. The screws are a tight fit intially and this step will allow them to go in much easier when you are attaching the capacitor body.

Easy install no problems. Arrived and package well.
Installation went well and the instructions was easy to read and understand.I had the old unit out ,cleansed the roof and installed the new unit by myself in half a day and finished up wiring inside in a short time .Everything worked as explained,Thanks so much for your input and help with picking the right replacement ac unit

The item was delivered on time and very very easy to install I had it done and I would say less than 5 minutes between removing the cover routing the wires over to the capacitor and making the connection everything that was needed was included would recommend buying. I'm using a 3500 run time generator at my camper to operate a 15,000 BTU air conditioner and I wanted every Edge to help the compressor start without bogging down the generator I haven't done the actual run yet but I'm sure it will be okay and do as it was meant to do I've noticed Improvement with the startup of the air conditioner even under normal conditions plugged into Shoreline.
This is a must have for using the advent air 15kBTU with a generator. Great product, very easy installation, very easy wiring.
