Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this electric heat strip for your Advent Air RV air conditioner. Now, this electric heat strip is going to work with your R-32 compatible AC unit to remove the chill from your RV or camper on those cold and frosty mornings. Now, this will work with the Advent Air AC units that you see listed there on your screen by model number. And then this is also going to work with the Advent Air distribution box that you see there, ACDB.
So if you have one of those AC units and that air distribution box, this heat strip is going to be exactly what you need. So paired with your air conditioning unit, this electric heat strip will take the chill out of your RV on those cool and frosty mornings, as I mentioned. This is operated with a control dial on your air distribution box. So after you turn the dial to the heat setting, the compressor will shut off and the fan will blow air over the heater and into your RV. When the optimal temperature has been reached, you'll just turn the dial to a fan or cooler setting.
And then I do want to make a note that this heat strip only has one temperature setting and it cannot be controlled by the thermostat. Just so you're aware of that. The capacity is gonna be 5,500 BTU per hour. The wattage is 1,500 watts. And to install this, you're just gonna mount the heat strip to the evaporator inside the AC unit with the included mounting screws that you see right here.
And this heat strip does have an easy plug-and-play installation with the supplied 30-inch power cord. And just to give you some overall dimensions, I ran my tape measure over this before our time together. Looking at the overall length, we're sitting at about 15 3/4 inches long. And the overall depth or width, about 2 3/4 inches wide. And then the overall height, about 4 3/4 inches tall.
And this. I mentioned that this is for the R-32 compatible AC units. So that being the case, this will not be backwards compatible with any AC systems from 2024 and earlier. You only want to pair this with systems using the new R-32 refrigerant that meets the 2025 EPA regulations. Just so you're aware of that.
