Most hitches leave a bulky metal piece hanging under the bumper. This one doesn’t. The Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver has a cross tube that stays concealed behind the bumper and a 2" x 2" receiver you can remove when you’re done hauling gear. Pop the base into the stainless steel center block until it latches, press the lock to secure it, and when you’re finished, unlock and pull it out—no tools needed. You get a clean, from-the-factory look every time you drive away without your rack attached.
Designed only for hitch-mounted racks and cargo carriers, this receiver gives you a sturdy 600 lbs tongue weight capacity for your gear. The center block provides a solid mounting point, keeping accessories stable on rough roads. When the receiver is removed, you can protect the opening with the included hitch plug so dirt and debris stay out. It meets SAE J684 safety regulations and uses stainless steel construction with a black powder coat finish to resist corrosion through every season.
You don’t need special tools or a lift to get this hitch installed. It uses existing connection points so there’s no drilling or welding required, and it won’t affect ground clearance or block any foot-access sensors near the trunk. Just bolt it on, line it up, and you’ve got a hidden mount ready for your bike rack or cargo carrier whenever adventure calls.

5 stars for the product, but 1 star for how etrailer handles orders! I They listed the product as "in stock" but when I ordered it took _several weeks_ before it finally shipped. When I spoke to customer service about this I was effectively told that "the product was in stock in the warehouse, but it's a big warehouse and it's hard to get to this item." My mind was blown by this explanation—what kind of fulfillment system lists something in stock that is "hard to get to"?? My suspicion is that etrailer _lies_ to the customer to get them to place an order even when they do not have the item actually in stock. I am unlikely to order from this site ever again, unfortunately.

Oh no, Im sorry for your frustrating experience with etrailer. It sounds like you caught us during our warehouse expansion. We have since doubled our warehouse space to avoid this type of situation.

Stealth is the proper name for this! Can't tell I have a hitch installed until you put on the connector unit.

Product can only be used for my hitch-mounted bicycle rack because itproduct did not have any place to secure trailer chains. I would not have purchased having known that.
Quality is great. Have owned for one year and paired with my mtb kuat bike tray rack. Installation is straightforward with the instructional video but it will take a few hours if you don’t have a lift and experience and tools. But all in all it has held up.
This hitch is fantastic. The hitch receiver is removable so when you're not using it, there is no visible hardware at all. Even when installed, the receiver is clean-looking and unobtrusive. It comes with a custom key that you use to install and remove the receiver. Once the key is in, there's a knob on the opposite side that pulls out, it's spring-loaded. It's hard to master at first but then you get the hang of it. I had this hitch installed at a BMW specialty shop (Northern VA). They said it was a piece of cake, it took them about 2.5hrs. My installation fee was $[XX] which was very reasonable based on multiple quotes. ***NOTE: I did not want the electrical integrated into the installation - I only ever use a bike rack, I never intend to tow. This is why the installation price was a lower labor cost.*** I've attached pics, the long black plate is what is removed from the bottom and handed over to you. Thanks for a great product etrailer!

Video instructions were great and very helpful for the 2022 BMW x3. So far so good and would recommend this hitch.
