Features to know about

Haul Heavy Loads with Confidence: Class V XD Strength Rated up to 17,000 lbs

When you’re towing serious weight, you need a hitch that’s built for it. This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver is rated for 17,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 2,550 lbs maximum tongue weight. It’s also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for the same 17,000 lbs WD GTW and 2,550 lbs WDTW. The large, square-tube main body and precision robotic welding give it the strength to handle heavy-duty towing jobs day after day.

Simplify Your Build: Bolt-On Installation with No Welding Required

You don’t need specialized tools or a lift to get this hitch on your vehicle. It bolts directly to the frame using the included hardware kit—no welding required. The custom-fit design means everything lines up right where it should, saving time during the install. Whether you’re setting it up in your driveway or garage, the clear layout makes it easy to get done without extra hassle.

Keep It Looking Good Longer: Durable, Corrosion-Resistant Finish

A hitch that works hard should also stand up to the elements. The protective base coat and black powder coat finish are co-cured in a rust-resistant liquid Bonderite coating for superior corrosion resistance. That combo keeps the steel sturdy and looking sharp even after years of heavy use and exposure to road grime or moisture. The open-back receiver design also makes it easy to keep clean inside.

Ready for Every Tow Job: Versatile 2" Receiver Opening

This 2" receiver opening fits a wide range of towing accessories like ball mounts, bike racks, and cargo carriers without needing adapters. Wide safety chain openings handle heavy-duty hooks with ease, giving you flexibility when hooking up trailers or other gear. It’s the strong, straightforward setup you want when you’re hauling anything from work equipment to weekend toys.

The hitch fit perfectly, the only issue was kit was missing (2) 14mmx2 flange nuts for hex bolts.

You should find the instructions and installation hardware in a plastic bag stuffed into the receiver tube. If they aren't there, please call us at 800-298-8924 and we'll get replacement hardware sent out.

The trailer hitch was exactly what was advertised, installation would have been as little as 30 minutes....that is if my aftermarket lift gate wouldn't have been an issue. But after moving the hitch 3 inches and drilling new mounting holes it's installed and ready to go.

  • How do I Determine the Rise/Drop I Need on My Truck to Level My Trailer?
From your recent searches, it looks like you are trying determine the correct rise/drop you need to connect a ball mount to your truck's hitch to level a trailer. To determine what rise or drop you need, the basic formula is Hitch Height - Coupler Height = Rise/Drop. In order to measure the height of your hitch, this is the measurement from the ground to the top inside tube of your receiver on level ground. The measurement of the coupler is the height from the ground to the bottom of the...

  • Differences Between Curt Trailer Hitches for a 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500HD
I'd be more than happy to help you decide what Curt trailer hitch to install on your 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500! The initial difference between them are the weight and class ratings. The higher the class rating the higher the weight rating: Class III Hitch - # C55CR Class IV Hitch - # C35CR Class V Hitch - # C36CR Hitch - # C96CR The Class V hitches have massive tow weight ratings so unless your truck is rated for really heavy duty towing it's not really worth installing something with...

  • Curt C36CR Hitch Fitment for 2026 GMC Sierra 3500
Great question. Since the Curt hitch part # C36CR is a custom-fit hitch, it doesn’t have standard overall dimensions listed like a universal hitch would. It’s designed to bolt directly to specific trucks using factory mounting points, so the shape and size vary to match the frame of those vehicles rather than having one set of measurements. On a 2026 Sierra 3500, most trucks come with a factory hitch already integrated, so when someone is looking at this hitch, it’s usually because they’re...
