Differences Between Curt Trailer Hitches for a 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500HD

Question:

I see a handful of Curt hitches that fit my 2022 Silverado 2500HD. I don't have the factory hitch which is why I'm wanting to add one but I'm not sure which one to get. They all look the same to me. Which one should I be using?

The initial difference between them are the weight and class ratings. The higher the class rating the higher the weight rating:

Class III
Hitch - # C55CR

Class IV
Hitch - # C35CR

Class V
Hitch - # C36CR
Hitch - # C96CR

The Class V hitches have massive tow weight ratings so unless your truck is rated for really heavy duty towing it's not really worth installing something with that rating. This leaves you with the Class III and Class IV hitches which are essentially the exact same thing, just that the Class IV has some more support built in with the frame. If you'd like that extra support for peace-of-mind then I'd go with the Class IV # C35CR, otherwise I would just stick with the Class III # C55CR as it should be enough for your towing needs.
