What is the 2017 Ford F-150 Tow Capacity Rating
Updated 05/14/2018 | Published 05/11/2018 >
Question:
I am looking to tow a car about 150 miles and U-Haul is asking what the tow hitch system is rated. On their website they will not rent to anything less than 5k pound rating. Any help would be much appreciated.

From my research regardless of how your truck is equipped you should have no problem meeting the 5,000 pound minimum because the lowest rated F-150 from 2017 has a towing capacity of 7,600 pounds. The exact capacity of your F-150 depnds on some other factors like the engine size and whether your truck is 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive. Double check your owner's manual but I'd be very surprised if you're under 5,000 pounds.
If your truck isn't already equipped to tow a trailer we have everything you need. I've linked our selection of wiring harnesses and trailer hitch receivers, like the Curt # C14017. If you need more equipment than what you have, such as a brake controller maybe, let me know how your trailer is currently equipped so I recommend the additional parts for you.
