This hitch is built for real-world hauling. With a maximum gross trailer weight of 6,000 lbs and maximum tongue weight of 900 lbs, it’s ready for towing campers, boats, or small utility trailers. The 2" x 2" receiver opening gives you access to the most common ball mounts and accessories. When used with weight distribution, it keeps the same 6,000 lbs GTW and 900 lbs TW capacity, giving you the confidence to handle heavier loads safely.
You can do more with your vehicle when you have the flexibility of a 2" receiver. This hitch easily handles cargo baskets, platform carriers, or multi-bike racks without the need for adapters. It’s ideal for road trips, family outings, or just adding more storage when you need it. The sturdy square-tube design gives a solid foundation for whatever gear you attach.
Installing this hitch doesn’t take special tools or a lift. It bolts directly to the frame using the included hardware kit and instructions. Precision, robotic welding ensures each mounting point lines up right where it should, eliminating guesswork during setup. The bolt-on installation makes it a straightforward DIY project that most folks can handle in their driveway.
The steel construction is fully welded and finished with a gloss black powder coat layered over a protective base coat. That combination gives it superior rust resistance against road grime, weather, and salt. It keeps its strength and clean look over years of use so you can tow or haul without worrying about corrosion wearing it down.

GREAT HITCH
well made
I’m very happy with the product and did not have any problem with installing Perfect fit for my van Kim was very helpful and answer all my questions I would recommend to my friends and will use them again Thank you again
I bought tow hitch for Metris Cargo van and I've installed it, but it looks very bad, is too low, you're afraid to upload something that you fear that Hitch car touches the ground. It is bad. It would be better if Hitch will be under the bumper would look more beautiful and safe, so I do not recommend anyone to Hitch.
Great product, fit exactly, will definitely be purchasing from etrailer in the future
Hitch was as described and arrived promptly. I had to widen the plates 1/4 inch to get around the frame, but that was no issue.
Great hitch. Fast shipping!
Hitch was easy to install. Everything fit. Solid/strong hitch. Only issue is hitch is so low that hits some speed bumps... have to remember to go slow.
It is a good quality hitch and I am happy to have it. They had the item when everyone else was out of stock. The main negatives I had were the lack of any information being emailed to me when the item was not shipped by the time it was supposed to. I had to call them to find out they were swamped due to shipping back ups due to Covid and it would be sent out in another week or so. It arrived about 2 weeks later than originally stated when I purchased it. Other than the lack of communication, all is good.

It has done well for me. As mentioned in other reviews it does sit low to the ground and does, very rarely, bottom out. This is more a reflection on the low riding nature of the vehicle than a problem with the hitch.
Great hitch exactly as described with all the parts needed to install it.
Quality components, great fit, easy install. Major issue with the muffler rattling against heat shield. Any ideas for a solution? Is the heat shield necessary?

Thank you for your review. The Mercedes-Benz Metris that we installed the Curt Trailer Hitch part C13276 on did not have a heat shield near the install area. However, if your Metris does have a heat shield it can be trimmed with a Dremel tool so it doesnt touch the hitch. They are not always necessary and can be removed because the metal hitch will dissipate heat however it is better to just trim if you can. If you are referring to the exhaust that is rattling I have linked a helpful article for your reference.

My experience with eTrailers has been a paradox. Rarely have i interfaced with a more capable customer service department who is knowledgeable and friendly.
On the other hand the shipping department seems to have lost the plot. I’ve had the same hitch sent twice. And both times it arrived damaged because of lack of packaging. The shipping department should get a lesson on professionalism from the customer service department and then eTrailers would be unstoppable.
Expect your hitch to arrived damaged.

It does look like the hitch had a rough journey to you. It is not what we want to see happen with our hitches. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.
This hitch has the quality that I expected and it arrived earlier than promised. However I do have a few comments that may make installation easier of others. First, the instructions indicate that "lowering the exhaust may make installation easier", I saw no way that this hitch could be installed without dropping the exhaust and I recommend the instructions state that, not a big deal but it would have saved me a little effort if I had know that from the start. Second the inner dimension of the hitch was too narrow by about 1/2" to 3/4" to clear the frame of the van and I had to bend the hitch using a scissors jack and a 4x4 to get it to fit. In the end I was successful getting it installed but only because I'm persistent, this process added about an hour to the install time.
Within 20 minutes of the hitch arriving at my warehouse, it was installed. Lined up perfectly, and no missing pieces. Very well made. Would gladly order again if I purchase another similar fleet vehicle.
Be sure to slip the rubber hanger off for the tailpipe before installing. Theres also a tie-down hanger that needs to be removed and discarded before installing the hitch. This was clearly detailed in the instructions, but, I'm a man and therefore threw the instructions aside before installing. Also, you will need the metric sizes to remove the existing tie-down, but will require a 3/4" socket and box wrench for the installation. A fine product, wrapped and shipped with enough protection to avoid transit damage.
Looks great ! I installed it myself in my driveway. It is a very close fit to the frame so I had to spread the tabs about 1/4" out to get it in place. There are some examples of how to do this on the etrailer site that shows how to do that.

Great ! I just recently had the MB dealer complete the wiring on my Metris van and I use the van to tow an Airstream RV. Very Nice !
Great fit and finish. Easy installation. The only problem is how low to the ground it hangs, scraping the driveway upon entering.
