Let's go ahead and start with the trailer hitch for the 2023 Mercedes-Benz Metris, with the correct fit being the following:
- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13276
Then for the wiring, a 4-way and 7-way is needed to activate the brake controller, with the right parts for the Metris being the Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 119250KIT and Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7.
The latter install kit gives you the 7-way, and allows the Metris to use a brake controller, and for that I really like the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR, which also needs harness # RED69FR. This will give your customer a brake controller that is easy to use with just a control knob that also takes up much less space than a standard brake controller.
