Today we're going to be looking at part number F-10P. This is the Curt Chrome Trailer Hitch Receiver Metal Tube Cover for 2 inch by 2 inch hitches. Now hitch covers are designed to protect your hitch from dirt, debris, and road grime buildup. That way, the next time you're ready to use your ball mount or whatever it is you want to put in your hitch, whether it's a ball mount or an accessory, you don't have to worry about having to jam that in or clean out the receiver tube. These do a really good job of preventing those elements from getting trapped in there. They're also going to add a nice, clean, stylish look to your vehicle. This one is going to be made from an all metal construction.
It's going to feature a really nice chrome finish right here on the front. The unit's going to stand up well against rust and corrosion, so it's going to provide many years of use. It is designed for 2 inch b 2 inch trailer hitch receivers. This is the piece here that slides into your hitch. You push it in until you get your pinholes to line up, and then you're going to insert your standard 5/8 inch pin and clip or hitch lock to get it secured or locked to the hitch. Hitch pin and clip or hitch lock are going to be sold separately.
If you don't already have one, you can find those here at etrailer.com. We're going to take a look at the widest measurement. First, outside edge to outside edge, we're looking at a measurement of about 5 3/8 of an inch, and if we take a look at the overall height, that's going to be about 3 1/8 of an inch. The distance that we have from the back of this front plate to the center of our hitch pin hole, that's going to give us a measurement of about 2 5/16 of an inch. Now I want to go ahead and show you how this installs in your hitch. Very simple process. All you've got to do is take it, slide it in, and you're going to push it in until you get your pinholes to line up.
Then you're going to take your pin and clip or hitch lock, place that through, and make sure that you get it secured. That's going to do it for today's look at part number F-10P.

Well made and has a foam gasket on the backside so it fits tight against the hitch receiver to prevent rattling and noise. The chrome plating is what I would call commercially acceptable, not a show chrome by any means but it looks good.
Installation in my receiver was a bit difficult because the pad on on the back of the face. I had to push quite hard to get the holes to line up for the pin.
Otherwise, it does the job nicely.
I do a lot of buying on the internet and etrailer.com is buy far the best out there. The staff is extremely well trained and a pleasure to deal/talk with . Very Good hitch receiver tube cover - particularly if you want a chrome insert..
This hitch receiver really does not fit my Hummer (the holes are right to left...Hummer's is up and down ) I will use it on another car. The item is a quality made.
Well made, a good fit (it has a neoprene gasket around the shaft just behind the plate to seal the end of the receiver once it's in place, so a push on the plate is required to insert the retainer pin). In this vulnerable location a plastic or aluminum plate wouldn't last long, but this stainless steel cover should stand up to road hazards and the likely encounter with a stationary object (rocks between the wheel ruts or a misplaced wheel stop in a parking lot). It'll bend, but it should still be serviceable after a bit of abuse.
This chrome hitch cover fit my Curt class 3 hitch with no problems, however, it did not fit the High-Low adapter 10K GTW, 400 Lbs TW. This is very disappointing, as I had planned to leave the adapter in place while not in use. Anyone else having this problem? I might have to contact etrailer.com for a resolution...

Overall I still like the hitch cover. The quality is a little below what I hoped for as the chromed surface has some rough areas, like it was chromed before it was smoothed, or the chroming process created the unevenness.

Still looks the same after a year, Im still liking it!
Not chrome as advertised and too short to align with holes on truck hitch tube. $ 17.+ return shipping charge was excessive.

The front plate of the hitch cover is chrome plated however it is not a shiny chrome finish it is a brushed chrome finish. The distance from the back of this front plate to the center of our hitch pin hole is 2 and five sixteenth inches.
I have received the product and iam very happy with the fit and the looks. Thank you very much. mike b.
