Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the K-Source replacement side view mirror. This is going to be a direct replacement for the driver's side factory mirror on your 2000 through 2005 Ford excursion, your 1999 through 2011 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty, your 1999 through 2011 Ford F-350, 450 or 550 Cab and Chassis, or your 2008 through 2011 Ford F-450 Super Duty.This is modeled after your Ford's original look and fit. So you're really not going to be able to tell that this is a replacement mirror once you have it installed. It should look like the original, should blend in nicely with your vehicle so no one really knows that it's not the mirror that came with your vehicle from the factory.It does have the manual mirror face position, so you'll have to manually adjust the mirror there to get it where you need it to be.
It is an OE Grade product. So it's going to be the same quality materials as your original. The front of the glass is plated with reflective chrome. So you're going to get a nice, clear image. It's also a flat lens, so you're not going to have to worry about any warping or distortion, anything like that.
It's going to give you a true representation of the objects behind you.It does have the breakaway design. So if you we're to back into, say, the side of your garage or a parking post, anything like that, the mirror is going to fold in to help deter any sort of breakage to the unit itself. It is made of a durable plastic housing. It's got a nice black textured finish to it. So again, it's going to look very similar to your original.
It's going to hold up nicely, do a good job, do what you need it to do.As far as the installation, it's going to be extremely simple because this is modeled after the original fit of your mirror. Basically, all you're going to have to do is take your old mirror off, slide this one in the same places, the same connection points. Tighten it down, get it secured, then you're ready to go. You're not going to have to drill or do anything like that. It's going to have all the same mounting locations.For those of you who like the details, this is a replacement for the original equipment number F81Z17683AAB.
And this does just come with the one driver's side mirror. If you need the passenger's side mirror as well, we do have that available here at etrailer.com. This replacement mirror fit like a glove. It looks just like the original mirror that came with my 2500. Etrailer always have good quality items and I always go to them first before I buy anything to see if they carry it.
Really sturdy and heavy duty, had to move my tire for install but not relocate it on my 96 f250. Took me a little over an hour, had pre existing holes so I only had to drill two of them out.
I have previously bought these mirrors to replace my stock mirrors, only thing I noticed was only one hole lined up and the other had to be drilled out. And the hardware to bolt on I believe should be more chrome and a different style but otherwise that the mirrors are perfect and look amazing on the truck.

The mirror is not an exact replacement. The mirror support is made of thinner aluminum, overall quality not ad good as the original. The overall size is smaller, so the mirror sits lower and closer than the original on my 1993 F150. However, the mounting bracket spacing is correct, so I didn’t have to drill holes in the truck door.

Excellent Packaging, Great fit on to a 2003 Toyota Tacoma extended cab. The OEM mirrors had no ability to collapse for fitting into narrow spaces or while parked, these bring that necessity to the truck along with almost 1/3 larger height (more mirror!). Total width seems to be the same from the OEM. One BIG note, these mirrors do not offer use of the interior manual adjustment arm as the OEMs do; so you'll have to adjust the mirror by physically manipulating the mirror surface. Still these are a good deal and function well once installed and adjusted. GOod luck finding a better option for a Gen 1 Tacoma!
