Question:
1972 chevy monte carlo receiver measures 1-3/4 is this the proper adapter to make it 2. part no. HT58 1-58inch to 2inch
asked by: Roger
Helpful Expert Reply:
Trailer hitch receivers on passenger vehicles come in 1-1/4 inch, 2 inch, and 2-1/2 inch. Make sure you are measuring the width of the receiver opening, not the outside width. If it turns out you have a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening then you would need adapter # HTAD.
Please note that the use of an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent.
