Hands-Free Pumping

Pumping Handsfree

No need to fiddle with your gas can or worry about leaks while you siphon from it. Instead, set it and forget it with this automatic fuel pump. The nozzle has a clip that attaches it to the tank of your vehicle, preventing it from falling out and causing a spill. Once everything is in place, just press the "On" button and the auto-stop sensor in the nozzle will detect when the tank is full and shut the pump off on its own.

Video Transcript for Review of TeraPump Fuel Transfer Pump - Fuel Transfer Pump Gas Cans Racing Utility Jugs - TE87VR

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this TeraPump Fuel Transfer Pump for Gas Cans and Racing Utility Jugs. This battery powered pump is going to let you transfer fuel from your gas can to your mower or your boat or your ATV. It's going to be perfect to have on hand in your garage at your shop, have for your yard equipment, have on hand at the farm, at the dock, or maybe even at your campsites. Now this pump is also going to be great to have on hand at the race track because of the included utility and racing can adapter that's going to fit various North American plastic utility jugs. This pump works with non-corrosive liquids such as gas, non-potable water, kerosene, diesel, or light oils.

It's not compatible with drinking water, thinners, solvents, hot liquids, acetone, benzene, cresol, ethyl, phenol methyl ethyl, concentrated caustic liquid soda, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid. This pump will work with a variety of containers and the four included adapters that you see here on my table before me are going to fit most standard North American plastic gas cans. These are gonna work with your utility jugs as I mentioned your racing jugs, VP Racing, Mr Gasket, Midwest Can No-Spill Can, Scepter and Briggs and Stratton Garage BOSS Cans. Now I do happen to have a few containers here gas cans and utility jugs. So let me zoom out on this one since this is a little bit taller.

This is a multipurpose utility jug. Now this particular utility jug this is not going to be able to handle gas but I have it here just to show you that this adapter for your racing can or your utility can will fit right on there and then you're just going to simply run your pump through the top of that adapter. So let me zoom in real quick just to show you. It's a very solid fit so you kind of see the threads there, that utility jug and so a good firm fit, no problem there. Now I do happen to have some other jugs here.

Let me see what I have. I have a, a Midwest Can right here. And so let me see which one of these adapters are going to work. It looks like this one fits real well and this other one I think is going to fit pretty well. So yeah, both of those adapters are going to work.

And then what you're gonna do is just find the adapter that's going to best fit for you. I have another gas can here. This is a Briggs and Stratton. So let me see what I have here. So this adapter fits very well and then let me see if this one's going to fit. Yeah, so this one works as well. So these adapters are going to go right on there. And I have a RotoPaX Container here and so I'm go ahead and take the lid off of this one. Now this RotoPaX one I discovered I did not need an adapter for. So take a look at the threads there. I was able to put this right in without the adapter and this joint nut fit right on there. So you kind of get an idea of what this pump is going to look like when it's on a can. So on this RotoPaX I did not need an adapter and it's a nice solid fit. Now you don't necessarily need a solid fit for this to work. So if none of the adapters work for your gas can but you're still able to get the intake hose through it's still gonna be able to work but there's more of a chance that you might spill or have some leaking or things like that. So, but I wanted to kind of give you an idea of what these adapters fit. So they're gonna fit most gas cans that you have probably at home. On your screen I am including kind of the fruit of our research with this pump. Now you see my utility can there with the larger adapter and then all of those cans in the middle there that works with the standard adapters. We we're able to confirm they all work. So there's a few cans there on that graphic that I don't have here in my studio. And then the one can there at the end we we're not able to get a fit for with the adapters that are included in this pump. So again, you find the adapter the best fits and you make sure it's fastened tightly to your supply tank and then you're just going to insert the intake hose through the adapter and fasten the pumps joint nut tightly. So this, I do wanna point out that this does not fit FMD gas cans. Speaking of this intake hose, the overall length from the pump to the end here, it's sitting right around 23 inches long and the overall diameter is about one in three sixteenths inches in diameter. So again, that's going to fit through most of your gas can openings. And I did want to point out that we do have a locking clip here on the discharge hose. So that's going to allow you to secure this nozzle on your receiving receptacle providing the hands-free experience. And then when you're finished this pump has a built in holder. Try not to get too tangled up here, right there. That's going to allow you to attach that to the pump itself. So when you're done using this, that discharge hose will be outta your way. Now speaking of this discharge hose, the overall length from the end all the way to the pump here, we're sitting about 51 inches long. So you got quite a bit of length there. This has a flow rate of 2.3 gallons per minute and the power buttons, let me show you this here real quick. The power buttons on this water resistant cover are going to allow for easy operation as you can see right there. And then the auto stop sensor is going to stop the flow when the tank is full. This does have a hole in the pump itself to prevent leaks and the airflow stops the fuel from continuing to siphon when the pump is stopped. So how is this powered Well this is powered, for the most part by four AA batteries and those are sold separately. And the four AA batteries is going to allow the transfer of approximately 250 gallons over their lifetime. Now in a pinch you can use two AA batteries to power this unit and transfer up to 125 gallons. This is going to meet the high safety standard standards of ANSI, UL, CSA and NSF. And the overall dimensions of just the pump itself the overall height is going to be about three and a quarter inches. So this is going to be sitting about three and a quarter inches above the gas can that you have this on. And then the overall width, we're sitting at about four and a quarter inches wide. Instructions are included to again go over the features of this pump and to make sure that you're using it the way in which it was designed. Well that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..

Had purchased 2 - these work great -

Pump works great, a lot quieter than I thought it would be. It is so much easier than holding a 5 gallon can up and trying to get the spout in the hole.
