2019 Ford F-150 - Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches

  • Above the Bed
  • Reese
  • Custom

Heavy-duty, custom brackets dramatically reduce the amount of drilling and time required to install your fifth-wheel trailer hitch. Outboard design ensures simple access to mounting points. Brackets, 10-bolt base rails and hardware included.

Features:

  • Installation brackets mount beneath your truck bed to provide attachment points for 5th-wheel rails
  • Base rails sit in truck bed and allow installation of 5th-wheel trailer hitch
  • Fast, simple installation with outboard design
    • Extended-length base rails allow for mounting farther out from truck frame
      • Avoids underbed components for easier access
      • Cuts down installation time by more than half compared with universal kits
    • Custom brackets mount to existing holes in truck frame, minimizing drilling and measuring
  • Thoroughly tested kit is compliant with strict Society of Automotive Engineers guidelines
  • Kit includes brackets, 10-bolt rails and Grade-8 hardware
  • Compatible with B&W, Curt, Demco Hijacker Premier Series, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, Reese, and Valley above-bed 5th-wheel trailer hitches
  • Sturdy, black powder coated steel resists corrosion

Specs:

  • Base rail dimensions: 48" long x 1-7/8" tall
  • Limited lifetime warranty

Reese's outboard installation kit for your fifth-wheel trailer hitch was designed with safety and convenience in mind. Just like the original custom mounting brackets, these brackets install using existing holes in the truck frame, minimizing installation time. The biggest difference with this outboard kit is the extended-length rails. These above-bed rails are 5 inches longer than standard, universal fifth-wheel rails so that they will match up with the mounting points on the brackets, which sit below the bed and outside of your truck's frame. The result is a much simpler installation process, wherein most underbed components can be easily avoided. Because you are working outside the frame rails, you also have easier access with your tools and more room to work, making the whole process less of a pain.

The base rails included in this installation kit feature a standard 10-bolt design. Each of these rails attaches to the underbed brackets with two carriage bolts at both ends. A single bolt is used in the center of each rail to further secure it in your truck bed. The result is a set of base rails that remains firmly in place thanks to 10 points of contact.

This entire installation kit is built to be SAE J2638 compliant and has been extensively tested per specified accelerated-life-cycle criteria for fifth-wheel trailer hitches. The requirements for testing are based on the European-style test of 900,000 cycles, making this testing process among the most thorough and intensive in the industry.

The custom hitch kit fit my f150 perfectly and the etrailer staff were extremely helpful in making sure I ordered the correct kit for the year of my truck. Etrailer is an outstanding company to do business with and I would highly recommend them.

picked them up last weekend. haven't installed them but my other unit was for my 2013 Ford 1/2 ton and they were the over the rail brackets which I could not torque to 100 lbs.
these will be a no brainer to install.

working as prescribed it holds the 5th wheel toy hauler to the head stock and the head stock to the truck body. much better product than the original above the truck frame for torquing nuts.

Very patent in regards to them answering all my concern questions. E-Trailer knew exactly what I needed for my new Ford F-150 aluminum truck bed. If the product did not fit, there was no problem to return within 60 days. Delivery was on time. The tracking system was perfect. The follow up was great. The fifth wheel was installed by others, and I am very happy with E-Trailer. Thanks Guys!!!!

Outboard installation with custom mounts is the only way to go!
Save yourself alot of grief and remove both rear wheels to install. Instruction set is not quite writen to this particular kit. For the needed tool set they require a 1.25 hole saw that you never use. The cat wisker feed wires are fantastic, give that guy a raise for coming up with that idea. Forgett the little insulator squares they give you. Use heavy clear packing tape and wrap two layers on all spacers and the fingers of the custom mounts.

2018 FordF-150

Watch the video; makes the job more straightforward. Workmanship and quality were very good; I was dismayed to to find my parts package torn and missing a bolt. Took some real digging to find what turns out to be a very non-standard type of bolt (Grade 8 Carriage)... finally found one in a mechanics toolbox at a local trailer rental place as I needed it right away for a trip. Finally, after getting through my first installation, I could probably do it in 4 hours as there has been a lot of thought and engineering put into the custom kit. First time installers should expect spending more like 6-8 hours for the job.

Have ordered from etrailer several times never disappointed package arrived everything was in it that was supposed to be I will keep buying for etrailer.I highly recommend them to anyone looking for trailer or towing supplies. Very knowledgeable with any questions you might have.

2017 FordF-150

Installed on my 2017 F-150 Supercrew. Not a no drill install as sold but with a couple of tools it’s a 2 hour install at most. Local RV dealer wanted 1600 for hitch and install and additional 150 for the light plug. I got it all for Etrailer.com for 850 and about two hours later I saved myself a ton of money!

by:

Product arrived on time and I have installed and pulled my 5th Wheel without any siiues.

by:

excellent easy install took me about 2 hrs all the parts you need came with this kit

by:

Instructions on where to drill holes in bed need to be a bit more clear but easy to install once you get it figure it out.

by:

  • Recommended Fifth Wheel Base Rail Kit For A 2019 Ford F-150
For your 2019 Ford F-150 I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP56034-53. This base rail kit has custom fit brackets that are designed to fit with the frame of your F-150 so that you don't have to drill into the frame during installation. For your 2018 Ford F-150, I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Outboard Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP56034-53. This will be a custom fit that will allow you to install the brackets without drilling into your frame. Once you have the 5th wheel base rails installed, a number of different hitch options are available, but you will want a sliding hitch because you have a short bed truck. If you want a hitch that will automatically slide for you...

  • Maximum Towing Capacity of a 2017 Ford F-150 with the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost Engine
To determine the maximum trailer weight you can tow with your 2017 Ford F-150 you will need to find both the Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) and the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of your truck. This can all be found on the information tag located inside the driver door jamb. If you subtract the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of your truck from the (GCWR) that will give you the maximum Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) you can safely tow. According to Ford's Trailer Towing Guide, the maximum towing...

  • Recommended Fifth Wheel Hitch For 2015 Ford F-150 Towing 2016 Cougar X-Lite 29RLI
I did some research on your 2015 Ford F-150, and on page 268 the towing guide says your truck can handle a gross combined weight of 16,900-lbs when your truck and trailer are fully loaded and ready to tow. Per the weights you mentioned totaling 10,000 lbs, that would be pushing the capacity of your truck to the maximum. You will want to make sure you stay under the total capacity for your truck. Since you have a 5-1/2 ft truck bed, you will need to install a fixed fifth wheel hitch and...

  • Are Reese 5th Wheel Rail Galvanic Isolators Required on 2017 F-150 with Spray-On Bed Liner
A sprayed-in bed liner on your 2017 Ford F-150's aluminum bed will serve the same isolating function as the galvanic isolator strips supplied with Reese 5th wheel rail kits like # RP56034-53 so you will not need to use them above the bed. But you are 100-percent right that you will still need to use them below the bed where the uncoated aluminum is exposed.

For your 2018 Ford F-150 with the 6-1/2' bed, I recommend taking a look at the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30047. The Reese hitch has a 2 jaw locking system which provides more jaw-to-king-pin contact than slide-bar models. The 4-way pivoting head helps with hooking up your trailer on unlevel ground. The height of the hitch head can also be adjusted from 14-1/2" to 18". You are correct in that you will not need a sliding hitch if you have a rotating pin box. In order to install...

  • Can 2017 Ford F-150 5-1/2 ft Bed Tow Fifth Wheel Trailer
Yes, you can tow a fifth wheel trailer with your 2017 Ford F-150 with a 5-1/2 foot bed. There's only one slider hitch though that will provide you with enough turning clearance though. Most sliders can provide up to 12 inches of sliding clearance whereas with a bed as short as yours you'd need more like 22-1/2 inches of clearance. So the hitch you'd need is the Demco Hijacker part # DM8550040 which has the clearance you need and automatically slides as you make tight turns. For a rail...
