Replacement Hardware Kit for Draw-Tite and Reese Universal Fifth Wheel Installation Kit (RP30035, 30035)

  • For use if you're moving your Draw-Tite or Reese fifth wheel rails from one truck to another and your rails and mounting brackets are still good
    • Hardware is meant for one time use and should be replaced if base rails are moved to a different vehicle
  • This is very similar to the 6007 (or RP30439) kit, but this kit does not include the brackets--only the hardware.

Video Transcript for Review of Draw-Tite Fifth Wheel Installation Kit - 58164

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this replacement hardware kit for the Draw-Tite and Reese Universal Fifth Wheel Rails. Now, this replacement hardware kit is for that Draw-Tite and Reese Universal Fifth Wheel base rails and installation kit. That kit we do sell separate on our website. It goes by part number RP30035.

And just to show you that kit, what I'm talking about is, if you notice that has this hardware in it, but you'll also see it includes the base rails and the mounting brackets. So, this kit here with just the hardware is for use if you're gonna move the Draw-Tite and Reese Universal Fifth Wheel Rails from one truck to another, and your rails and mounting brackets are still good to be used. Now, the hardware is meant for one time use only and should be replaced if the base rails are moved to a different vehicle. Now, this kit here is very similar to the kit number RP30439 kit, but this kit does not include the universal mounting brackets, only just the hardware. Does come with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how it all goes together.

But that should do it for the review on this replacement hardware kit for the Draw-Tite and Reese Universal Fifth Wheel Rails.

The directions and the replacement hardware worked great to install my
5th wheel hitch.

by:

Not clear on the instructions. I know it is a universal kit. We ended up making it work. We also ended up 4 lock washers short. Had to go buy them and then take the nuts back off and reinstall. Ended up taking an extra morning.

No other problems.

  • Universal 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation Kit for a 2004 Ford F-250 Long Bed
If you are using the Reese universal installation kit # RP30035 then it is compatible with your 2004 Ford F-250 long bed. The measurement from the rear edge of the bed to the back edge of the rear rail is 32-1/2 inches on your truck. The rails and brackets can be reused but not the hardware. It is meant to be torqued down just once. To replace the hardware you will need # 58164. If you are using a different 5th wheel installation kit I would need to know what it is to determine if it...

  • Bracket Kit Recommendation for 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500HD for Reese Fifth Wheel Rails
For your 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with a 6-1/2 foot bed the rail kit part # RP50066-58 is a confirmed fit. Since you only need the brackets and not the rails you instead would want the part # RP50066. The hardware you then need to connect the brackets to the rails is the part # 58164.

  • Reese 5th Wheel Base Rail Compatability for 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 6 Foot Bed
If you know you have Reese base rails on your 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500, then yes, you can re-use your base rails. If you had the universal installation kit that used 4 L-brackets on your Chevy (one at the end of each base rail), then it will be a fit to reinstall on your 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 6 foot bed. You will however need a special mounting bracket, # RP58023, to fit your Ram and a new hardware kit, # 58164 because the old hardware would have required being torqued down so I...

I checked your order notes and it looks like you ordered the rail kit part # RP58386 and # 58164 which is a confirmed fit for your 2004 Dodge Ram 1500, but you also need the part # RP30439 for the rest of the brackets/hardare for your rails to fit your truck.

  • Universal 5th Wheel Hitch Install Kit for 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Long Bed
Do you know the manufacturer of the hitch? The # RP30035 install kit includes the frame brackets, bed rails and hardware. This kit is compatible with Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, Valley and Husky brand hitches. If all you were needing was the hardware, it is available as part # 58164. A custom install kit is also available as part # RP50064-58. The custom kit typically takes about half the installation time as the universal kit. This kit is compatible with the hitches mentioned...

  • Can Reese 16k Fifth Wheel Hitch from 2009 Ford F-150 fit 2009 Dodge Ram
Yes, the rails and hitch that you sent in a picture of can be installed in your 2009 Dodge Ram. It will be just a matter of replacing the install brackets and you'd be set. For that you'd want # RP50140. Then for the replacement hardware to hold the rails to the brackets you'd want the part # 58164.

For a bracket kit for your 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 that does not include the rails we have the part # RP50140 which is just the brackets of the kit part # RP50140-58 that is a confirmed fit for your 2003 Dodge Ram 2500. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well. Since the hardware that attaches the rails to the brackets is considered one time use you'd need to replace the hardware with the part # 58164.

This hardware kit includes all of the hardware needed for mounting the base rails and under bed brackets in your truck. The hitch and rails can be reused but you'll need a new bracket kit to attach the rails to your truck frame. For that you'll want the part # RP56017 plus the hardware kit part # 58164 and you'll be set. Or for the entire kit you'd want the # RP56017-53.

Do you know what brand rails you have? We can't recommend mixing rail and bracket manufacturers but if you have the very popular brand Reese then the hardware kit you would need is the part # RP50084. If you can't find the brand the safest recommendation I could make then would be the part # RP50084-58 which includes new rails as well. If you do go with just the bracket kit you will also need the hardware kit part # 58164 to attach the rails to the brackets.

Your Reese hitch and rails can easily be installed in your 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 short bed. The Reese rail kit # RP50064-58 is a custom rail kit that fits both year trucks you mentioned so it most likely would work well for you assuming that is what you have.
